limp mode,jb3, and tranny light cant pass 4k.. help please

hey guys..

well long story short. i have a loose shift knob that i need to take care off, so i missed shifted going into 4th from 3rd, but beside that i went into 2nd gear that is when my knob came out. i hit probably close to 8k (red line) and but quickly with in a milisecond took it out of 2nd gear..

so my tranny light came on. and loss all the power ran like crap!

pulled over next exit and and switched my jb3 to map 0 (currently i was on map 5).

drove around the tranny light went off, and switched back to map 3..

do you think i should take it to the dealership to get it looked out..
or do you think im good???

Honestly your tranny should be ok the frst thing that should go is your exhaust valves. When you mechanically over rev like that you end up bending the valves and you would need a head rebuild. Happens all the time on E36 M3's, hell happened to mine. So unless your getting misfire codes and the car is running like complete crap. I'd say your out of the woods for now....

Trust me if your valves were bent you would know. Your car would be bucking and misfiring like crazy, You would have lost compression in cylinders. If your car is running smooth your good for now. Now if you've cause any damage there's no telling but the 335 is a very meticulous car I'm sure it would still be throwing codes if something was wrong. The tranny light would be on due to the fact you over reved pass the red line and the DME knows it. That why you went into limp mode to protect from any further damage if there even is damage. Like I said there's no telling if you damaged anything but if you car is running fine I would just count your blessings for right now.
