Thinking about switching over to Zymol, but...

Being sick of hand polishing/waxing my car by hand, I purchased the Porter-Cable Polisher a few weeks back. I usually use Meguiar's #26, #7, and #82. After hearing some of the results on numerous boards, I decided to substitute Meguiar's for some Zymol. After washing the car and preparing it for my wax/polish treatment; I was finally about to see what everyone was talking about. The finish and shine it gave my car was brilliant! Overall, I must say it is a very nice product, but God is it messy! Wax(dust) was everywhere! This wax just attracts it; took me about another 30 minuets out of my normal routine, just to clean up the mess along the doors, windows, and lights. Using the Meguiar's products, it took me about 5 minuets just to go over the car with a polishing cloth. Is there another way or method that I should know about when using Zymol? The wax was beautiful, pure, and well balanced for my black metallic paint, but the only downside of Zymol was the extra time it took me to clean it off my car. I give Zymol a 7.89/10

You need to try Klasse or Zaino instead, Zymol is like wax with training wheels

Zymol is an interesting brand. Their OTC products are, imo, not that great. There are other similarly prices and available products (like Megs) that are better. That said, Zymols boutique brand is incredible. Despite the cost (some of the waxes cost into the thousands) they are pretty amazing.

Which Zymol did you use, Synikal?

i use the zymol "concours" wax... expensive but the longevity is outstanding compared to the normal zymol paste wax.

Dude, concur with armoredsaint - you need to hook up with Zaino. The stuff rocks! Easy to put on and take off! No residue, no nada. Check it out.
Cheers.

the Meguiars NXT wax is awesome. No dust at all. Not that I don't like Zaino but I doubt there'll be a big diff except the price. Just go to autopia.org and see what they recommend since some of them are professional detailers. But NXT is good enough

I agree that Zymol is a good wax and makes the car look and feel great. But it's just the hassel of having to go into every nook of the car to clean out the leftover wax dust that's annoying as hell. Even after washing the car the next time, i could see areas where the dust just settled and isn't easy to get out.

Everyone recommends Zaino, but you must realize it's very time consuming the first time you apply it, and you'll NEVER just apply one layer.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've been looking around the forums for some tips on what polishes/waxes everyone uses and I stumbled upon Swissol ( www.swissol.com ). Looks very promising! I should get my order of Saphir very soon. I also hear 3M makes a very well product for our cars!

you would be amazed at how long it takes to apply a coat of Zaino

From start to finish it takes em about 30 minutes or less to apply and buff off

Just use the ZFX

...no I have not tried the Z-5 pro yet...But will be ordering very soon!!!

I have the Zymol cleaner wax and do not use it anymore due to the dusting and white residue. I tried the Mothers cleaner wax and it looks about the same as the Zymol without the residue or dusting and it is dirt cheap. Then top it off with the #26 for a little extra durabitlity. You can always try Zaino but if you like the deep, rich look of carnauba then you might not like it as much.
