HPFP Replaced w/o any engine codes or faults in car

Just an FYI.

When i was researching hpfp replacements the general feeling i got was that most dealers won't replace it unless there is a code the ecu throws or the car is having symptoms. Well i dropped my car off at the dealer tuesday b/c whenever i leave my car for longer than a day it would take a while to start the next time. So after diagnosing the car and keeping it overnight my SA told me they couldn't replicate the problem i was having (so they wouldn't be able to replace the hpfp)but have contacted bmw. They received word according to an SIB to infact replace the hpfp and so they did.

So if u're having doubts but know your car is having long cranks, in my opinion just take it in and they should go through the same procedure to replace it before it fails on you at the wrong time/place.

They have been saying that for the past 2-3 years... I'm skeptical still.

I think i might have the hpfp problem. I have the original sw pre 29.2 and I am very happy. did any one get their hpfp replaced without the sw upgrade? I hate the turbo lag

My HPFP has just been replaced and I lost all my settings - so not sure if the ECU has been upgraded or whether it was caused by disconnecting the battery?

Is there any info that the BT Scanner can display showing the version number of the ECU software?
