Why the switch? ITG wasn't cutting it?

It looks like the oem stock filter (but with a higher air flow, I guess). I have the ITG filter and do not notice any difference. I think that some ppl were right when they said adding an aftermarket air filter won't do much for a F/I tt car like the 335i (they make more of a difference on a N/A car), but I'm interested to know what you think. Let us know.

Never been impressed with foam filters myself. Cotton > Foam IMO

I think it was a bad move... foam or paper filter... you wont notice a difference in power. (comparing aftermarket filters)
Its the location of the filter which matters. |

ive seen an m5 get dynod with and with no air filters at all before, if i rem correctly there was no measurable difference at least on the dyno, i think the only thing that keeps drop in filters alive is placebo

I have the KN Drop in Filter.. Looks the same.. It works like i expect a KN to work. After a day or so, i noticed slightly quicker spool up and the car held the power strong a bit longer.. defn a light noticable change..

Same Wavelength
Hey Jon, we are on the same wavelength.....the BMCs for my 335xi are in transit in Koln right now.....
I am compiling all the parts that I want installed by my dealer for my PDI for the 335xi Coupe....still more parts inbound. BTW, for those that are unfamiliar with the BMC filters....they are superb quality. Cheap and good upgrade for the M5 / M6s.....they flow and don't foul up the MAF.

All I know is when when Walked U had an ITG filter he threw CEL's almost daily and ended up going back to stock. When I had ITG it wasnt really impressed with it and now that I have the BMC I notice my car idles alot better where as with the ITG filter the ECU seemed to have to adjust to the airflow constantly. Also as for the K&N for the 335 I've never seen it but Ive never really cared for K&N and after viewing a thread on M5Board I was convinced on getting the BMC as almost all the members bought BMC or switched to BMC.Also BMC provides airfilters to basically all of the Forumla one teams so I'm sure it's not a bad decision.
