Curbed it! #&^%$!!!!!!!

Ok, so I managed to curb a wheel dropping my son off to school and man am I pissed off at myself. You know how that feels. Nice good looking wheels and there it is, that one effin' spot that you just can't stop staring at every time you walk towards your car. Anyways, I started looking around for wheel repair services, either mobile or a walk in joint to fix the one wheel and I can't get over how much these places charge! I lucked up and paid like $125 per wheel as I'm a frugal SoB, but the average for repair's in my area seems to be $150-250. Damn.

I know a lot of people buy some seriously expensive wheels and being as such $150-250 might seem reasonable, but ain't there somebody, anybody that can service the little guy? Guess not. That said, I jumped on Amazon and bought a Permatex Wheel Restoration Kit and a can of VHT clearcoat for like $30 and change. I've never tried it, and read some reviews that mentioned it wasn't bad, but hell, why not? I'll give it a go. I've gone through the forum and peeps make it look pretty easy, but when it comes to fixing a car, I won't lie, I'm freekin' r-tarded. Has anyone here ever had experience with this brand of repair kit and is it really that simple? Guess it can't get any worse than it is, right?

The price of the repair won't really vary depending on wheel brand/model, but rather by the damage done. That being said, that pricing seems a little expensive just for some curb rash. Could just be your area though.

Do you have pics of the rash?
