Asking price for 2007 CPO's seems to be between 29k and 33k. This is asking price....I'd try to hack 2,500 off that 33K. Low ball at 28k and meet them half way at 30 to 30.5k. Just my 2 cents. At 33k The dealer is making a 5k profit at least!

Plenty of room. That is high. Range is 27-30K. Lower end is private party. Higher end is what to expect to pay at a dealer if it is certified with extended warrenty. Private party cannot ask for as much as a dealer. I bought mine last week for 25K from a dealer. The car has some nice mods too. They had it listed for 29K. Get your financing in line first. Go in their with a set amount you are willing to pay. If it is a dealer do not use their financing because that hurts you chance to neg price. Last edited by UAP1; 03-22-2010 at 09:28 PM.. |

I defiantly plan on taking advantage of the 0.9% financing special BMW currently has on all 07 models. I was planning on putting 10-15k down, depending on how much it will take to get payments under 400 a month.

The 0.9 financing is for only 4 years or 3 I'm not sure. Which would make your payments well above 400 even with 15k down

Aren't car loans simple interest meaning you can pay extra each month and have it go towards the principle and avoid interest? If so why not just take the 3.9 for 66 months?

I couldnt find anything on their website that states its limited to 4 or 3 years, only ''You can finance a Certified Pre-Owned BMW for a term of up to 60 months with no down payment required (subject to credit approval).''

I just bought a cpo 07 335i and the 0.9 was for only 3 or 4 years , I can't remember which, so I ended up with 3.9 for 5 years

I would still shop the rates. You don't want to just shop the dealer where you are buying the car. Often times they will feed you the bs that the price is the price when using their financing. They will make you feel like you are getting a good deal due to their good interest rate. At the end of the day you will end up paying $5000 too much for the car. Also, don't mention what you want or need your payment to be. That is info they can use to make more profit and cause you to pay too much for your ride. NEVER MENTION PAYMENT! Only talk cash ...out the door price! I would shop it and see if you can get preapproved with somebody. Go in with a hard figure like 28K plus tax (whatever that is in your state) worked out. Make them wave all the other fees. It it is a franchise dealer and you have good credit. Capital one finance is a good choice. When you come in pre-approved it is like a cash deal for them and most of the time they will be more willing to work with you on price. That also gives you the advantage to use their financing if it helps the deal. If they feel you are at their mercy with using their financing they are likely to scrape you over the coals. Make them feel like you will go somewhere else if they can't agree to this figure. You want to come in as a educated buyer. You will end up with a better deal and less bs. Don't let them hit you with all the f&i bs either. They like to stick a bunch of extra fees on non suspecting folks when it comes to financing. I have been in the car business for about 20 years. I help people put deals together all the time. We are actually creating a company and web site for this purpose. PS: Calling and talking to the used car manager will often times cut through a lot of wasted time. |

I offered a BMW dealer $27k on a $33k ask last week and he acted like I kicked his baby. Tread lightly if you really want the car. If you're going in cold, ask for no more than 10% off. If you're able to set the stage - by explaining some other cars you've seen, or issues with the car, or other logic to defend a lower offer - you could consider starting as low as 20% off.

By the way, Pentagon Federal Credit Union is offering 3.9% used car financing up to 72 months. You don't have to be in the military to join PFCU; take a look at their site for more info.

Seriously? No more than 10% off? Yeah, if you want to pay too much. Do you work for BMW or something? I have been in the car business for over 20 years. That is advice that will cost you $$! That is also exactly what they want you to think. The logic you use is pulling enough data to support your offer. These cars are worth 25-30K all day long. More important than looking up values. Call around and see what others we sell you their car for...get these guys competing for your business. This is also why you shop around. Some will not want to play ball. If you are set on a particular car and they know it. You will pay too much. I bought one last week that was listed for 28,990...for 25K. I believe that is more than 10%. With plenty of warranty left and nicely modded (warranty still good with mods) |

Not a stupid question. Usually depends on the dealer or seller. With my dealership all deposits were non refundable. Only time we would work with the customer is if they felt the car was misrepresented. If we felt that had a good argument we would refund no questios asked. If they wanted a refund because they decided they wanted to buy a different car from another dealer. Or, decided they just did not want a car. No refund. We took the car off the market and lost potential sales. All cleary stated in our listings and before we would take a deposit. Bottom line. Make contact with the seller and see what you can work out with them. Hope this helps. |

what i got
I recently bought a 2007 CPO E90...
Sedan (Black w/ Dakota Brown) Automatic Premium Package Sport Package Cold Weather Package (heated seats, etc) Backup Sensors Brand New Tires (no iDrive, and NO OIL COOLER ) 31k miles I got it for $27.5K + tax, with $0 down @ 2.9% for 5 years. Payment is ~$480 I thought it was a good deal at the time compared to what they were asking for similarly spec'd 328's. But you know what they say... money can't buy you
