Warranty question

Does BMW USA require to have the car registered in the US for a minimum period for the warranty to be valid?

I just bought a new X5 from the US and brought it back the same day and BMW NA said the warranty is valid - just not the maintenance program. With the CDN $ being soo high, you would be crazy to buy a new BMW in Canada. I saved over $12k!
