Phewwww... IM FINALLY DONE. Took me a good part of almost 2 weeks. Thanks Bigboy and everyone who stayed seeding for me, I will be seeding for the better part of next year since I never turn my computer off anyway.
I burned it on a Verbatim SL DVD-R works perfect, fast load, accurate. Thanks everyone Last edited by samwoo2go; 01-20-2009 at 02:11 PM.. |

The last time I updated the disc forced to reenter all the listings in my stored address book since they didn't work any more.

That means you didn't get a good burn and the drive is having difficulty reading it. You should reburn it possibly on different media or at a different speed. If you burned at maximum speed, try using a slower speed. If you burned at a slower speed you might try burning at max speed. (Some drives are better at burning at max speed and others are better at slower speeds.)

FWIW I had the most problems with the DL disk. Some had less problems. Use bigboy's SL ISO and play around with burning at different speeds.

Took forever to download the torrent but after about 40 hours we hit paydirt. Single-layer DVD that isn't any sort of name-brand burned 1x and we're golden. Works flawlessly. Seeding now...
I was looking for the I-355 extension in Chicago as well and it doesn't appear on this version. Weird because the mapping tool at navteq.com shows the extension on its site. Perhaps the next edition will have it. Thanks to all the good advice and bigboy's torrent!

I envy all of you who have this working. The person I got it from "lost" the nav dvd so I have been without one since I bought the car.
The Ivy, it took forty hours to DL? |

I just got the final pieces for my home server today (few 1TB HD's). So tonight when I get done I'll start seeding Bigboy's ISO. Hopefully it won't take you 40 days to get

I tried both the pirate bay link and mininova from BigBoy's post. Neither worked. Anyone have the link to an up and running link? Preferrably the one that fits on a single layer disk.

Yeah it took awhile so I just let my laptop run. The seeding was kind of weak so I just left it alone for a few days. It's a pretty big file. Some people DL'ed quicker. At the end of the day, I used the piratebay link from bigboy, DL'ed with uTorrent, used the free IMGBurn and it fit on a single-layer DVD burned at 1x. Restarted the car's system (by leaving the DVD in and turning the car off for 5 minutes) when it recognized the new version and have had no issues since. Didn't have to dig into the file or do anything other than download and burn the iso.
Maybe I just got lucky...
