no need video, just drive "hard" to dealer and tell'em you have extremely long crank. ask them to leave your car in dealer on day or two if need. and ask them to fix it!
Yeah i may do this... But I'll have to de-mod! I think showing video might help explain what it's doing and sounds like etc. You know... So they technically can't say "oh well we could not re-produce the issue" so it's your word we are going by etc.

Well it's a lot of work to re-produce the issue lol. I basically had to drive the car hard through acceleration and constant high speed for pretty much a full tank! Then I can guarantee that long crank will happen. Maybe it's a flaw... Maybe bubbles... Maybe a loss of pressure ... But one thing is for certain, I heard my pump prime when I unlocked the car and it stops priming like it usually does. I in fact wait for it to stop before I start the car always!

Alright, so I was driving home from the pool hall about 20 minutes ago on map 1 and my car jerked again. This time I immediately read the codes while driving. There were two codes. I wasn't expecting two so I only managed to memorize one. I tried reading the codes again but both of them didn't come up this time.

One of them was code 28A0. WTF? Throttle-valve angle - intake-manifold pressure,
correlation: Limit value exceeded

Emailed Terry, but was wondering if any of you had ideas.

Shit, is my HPFP blowing out? Cause I haven't gone into limp or anything yet... and the car is running fairly strong when I put it on map 0.

I dont know, its actually really hard to say if its tune related or HPFP... if its running strong on map 0 and not giving you these types of hickups or codes... then i'd say its more inclined to be tune related. I'd guess the best advice may be to run it on map0 for a while to see if this still continues.

My long cranks were because I primarily drove my car hard on high boost, 93 octane, injen intake, catless dp and on map 2 of the procede.

Terry emailed me yesterday saying it was a tuner code and that I should ignore it. I've been running map 0 since then and the car feels awesome. No delays in the shifts at all.

It's definitely a tune related problem. My biggest concern though, is that these problems weren't present when the tune was installed. They became present after I installed the downpipe.

Yeah I know...what I'm trying to say is that the car is fine at stock, but once I switch maps my car runs like shit. I got a USB cable today so I'm going to log the car in a few hours.

opposite for me...when i switch over, it is instantly reduced lag and buttery smooth between shifts and the rev range. no herky jerky and no roughness at all. i have both tunes and have been going back and forth between them a bunch lately.

Third visit in for long crank, stalling, surging idle and exhaust/turbo rattle. Just had my HPFP changed (@ 2,400 miles) for the long crank (and stalling). No check engine light and now BMW shadows the fault codes for this concern. As for the surging idle and exhaust rattles they've informed me that a software update is forth coming.
Just thought I'd share my experience so far with the long crank on the N55.

Honestly, having loud cranks on an N55 is a given. I don't notice any deficiencies when I get a long crank so I just ignore it when I get one now.

Weird... Mine is predictable... Normally the first time I start it up the day after I beat on it... Other normal driving days it starts up fine.
