Duke dynamics diffuser

Hey guys,

I heard a lot of rumors that the Duke Dynamics diffuser has very bad fitment issues. I'm interested in one and considering that my bumper is M-tech, I'm really worried it wouldn't fit at all.

What are your thoughts? Has anyone here tried it on a non-OEM bumper?

I just recently installed a DD CF Quad diffuser on my car, and fit was near perfect. The only issue I had was the locator tabs were a little too thick. It was nothing 30 seconds with a Dremel couldn't fix. Install took all of 5 minutes, even with the Dremel work. I actually got the DD diffuser to replace the Cyba quad diffuser that was so far off fit that it just flat wouldn't go on the car.

Wow these look sooo good! I wonder why ppl don't often go for them.
Thanks for the pics!

Question is now should I go for quads or keep my duals.

I know for certain that the quad fits an OEM bumper. The DD diffusers are a little thinner than some others (single layer carbon over some other substrate, I think) and this is a good thing in a small-ish cosmetic piece. They have some flex to them for a better fit, where others I've dealt with are multi-layer carbon and flex about as much as a brick. Stiffness is great in structural bits or large pieces like a hood; but, for this piece, attaching to a plastic bumper, flex is good.

E90 performance diffuser required you to trim out the rear m-tech bumper, as shown on the BMW installation guide. Make you sure do it right, then you will be fine.

I think they may lack continuity in their production process, because I just recently picked one up and it fits fine. Kindve a roll of the dice with these things, but for such a good looking diffuser it is worth it.

OMG, I just noticed the white coupe with the csl trunk and euro plate, and I <3 how they painted the upper trim piece on the bumper. That is a game changer.

Wow. That's terrible ^

Was on the same boat during the summer as I had read and seen the horror stories with the fitment issues like above. After alot of research and patience, I went for it and ordered it. Got it within a week and went on like a glove on my JG Mods M-tech rear bumper. Here's my thread. Hope it helps!

It looks like you have the same one as the link. Which is for e92 with quads.

I have a feeling DD's actually messing up their production dimensions only for E90 models. Or maybe they're shipping E92 diffusers to E90 buyers thinking it has the same dimensions.

Can we have someone confirm this? A consensus? Who has an E92 and recieved a diffuser that won't fit?

Let's settle this once and for all. DD's reputation has gone rock-bottom regardless how good their diffusers look.
