Dunno, I wouldn't pay 300 for ASE. it's just not THAT amazing a track. And LCMT is prob 15K or so so that's pretty much out.

You have to think about it this way - how much MORE track time could you realistically do versus how many more people would you need to make it economically feasible?

Yesterday after Viper, I was pretty burned. Granted, I was slightly sick the day before so wasn't 100%, but I doubt I could do, for instance, another hour of track time.

I once used to dream of just barging into a sushi store and just gouging myself in salmon, just ripping into it like a hungry bear after hibernation (ya, I like my salmon). It was a dream. I once more or less achieved it. It was nothing like what I expected, so I am now satisfied with my small pieces.

Lesson: all you can "X" isn't always a high win

Doing well. Pouting a bit. Watched NASCAR this evening due in part to missing the track. Seeing the orthopaedic surgeon on Monday to see what happens with my hand. More time in the cast? Pins and plates? Remove the cast and a pat on the back? Should be interesting. Hand feels good though. I can tense it pretty hard in the cast without too much pain, so I guess its moving along.

Ken, did you take any video of your sessions?

20 good drivers would be perfect! Beginners is best to do with instructors, not this kind of event, for their own safety!

No, I haven't gotten myself a camera yet! Once my driving starts getting awesome, we'll see!

He didnt mention anything about that Boxster with brake lights that weren't working!!
That is a summary of all the things not done properly during the day, so they are not pointing to 1 individual in particular, but many. I am guilty of the second point only, won't do it again!

Thing is, not enough reinforcement of what to do and not to do in case of contact etc.! All events should include this so everyone is reminded, just as they do for flags! drivers should be walked through the whole process, to understand the sequence of events until safely returning to pits!

hi guys, I was the white 1 series bmw on the track with the massive hideous spoiler. had a great day on the track first time taking the car on that track and first time with the new engine. some great pictures and great driving by everyone. hope to make it out to more events this year/ next year and hopefully join the advanced group instead of being placed in the beginner intermediate group.

thanks glad you had fun. it's never easy, plus I didn't go light on the throttle at all, so since you survived that, looks like you're good to go

the hardest thing is NOT to get out of the car. you know you hit something, don't know how hard, first concern is "what happened to the car"..., but as Andras says, that's an immediate red flag.

apparently there was also a fight in the pits or something. I formally complained about the Boxster btw, Andras replied copying Seb and apologised - said there was some physical hysteria in the pits which is why he didn't have time to deal with it, but he seems to have taken that seriously.

Some news....some of it pretty good!

My email to tremblant:
Quote:
Hello,

I have 3 questions:

1- When are and how much are the lapping days and who are they opened to?
2- How much do you charge to rent the track?
3- How much do you charge for yearly membership?
Their reply:
Quote:
1. Lapping schedule is on www.jimrussell.com look for Performance Driving and Performance Lapping; open to just about all.
2. See attached
3. Annual Club Membership $5,000. plus taxes
Regarding Jim Russel...I will call to inquire because I think you have to have attended their course or smthg before they allow you doing advanced lapping

As for the track fees, here is the document:
Quote:
TRACK FEES - 2013 SEASON
WEEKDAY: Mon-Thurs: $8,000. per day; Fri (May 3 through Sept 27 inclusive): $10,000. per day.
WEEKDAY JUNE 3 - 11: $10,000. per day.
WEEKEND: Sat-Sun (May 11 through Sept 22 inclusive): $15,000. per day; all others $10,000.
per day.
ALL RENTALS: $1,500. additional per day for Club Race.
WEEKDAY RACE TEST: (Mon-Thurs) $15,000.; maximum six (6) vehicles.
- All Race Test Days subject to approval and available only to licensed/qualified
competitors, with race safety equipped vehicles, who compete in Championship
race events conducted at Circuit Mont Tremblant.
- Other conditions and/or requirements may apply.
RENTALS INCLUDE:
- Race track and skid-pad.
- Access to tower.
ADDITIONAL AND REQUIRED:
- Insurance: $400. to $1,500. per day depending upon program and number of cars.
Speciality programs require individual insurance quotations.
- Ambulance: $1,100. per day.
OPTIONAL: - Marshals/flaggers: $800. to $1,100. per day depending upon number required.
- Instructors: $500. to $1,500. per instructor per day depending upon function and/or
duties.
- Tow truck: $450. per day.
- Radios: $15./radio first day; $5./radio each additional day.
- Catering: priced according to needs; either nutritional or financial.
NOTE: Single weekend days (Sat or Sun) not available May 4 through October 6 inclusive; rates are
subject to change without notice; frequency rates and custom packages available; all reservations and/or
programs subject to approval; noise levels in force; other conditions apply; taxes (5% Federal and
9.975% Provincial) additional.
This means that renting with insurance + flaggers + tax is about 13K. With 30 people, 2 rungroups, that's about 400$ a person for realistically like 3.5 hrs of tracking...

Im DEFINITELY down for that....

Go ahead... set it up. I'm not going through all the trouble when there is many events out there that suits my needs.

Finding some 30 lappers that you trust, that have sufficient experience and won't back down at the last minute should be rather difficult.
