I been watching your thread over at ferrarichat !!!

and I asked a couple of the guys if they wanted to join in, but wasn't sure if the BMW crew would be welcome with the ferrari crew... glad to know there will be no problems!

I loosely can even be considered part of the ferrari crew as I am not FCA... I drive a Maserati. But they come out to my drives.
The Maserati guys usually don't come out as they only go to shows amd keep their mileage down...booring.
I come from a BMW family oldskule. We had a 320i. And another 320 with a retrofit 325 engine, racing suspension, lowered, etc ... bought from a BMW mechanic.
I should be negotiating in a month or two a 300 series for my dual driver and get rid of my Mazda-rati Tribute which is long in the tooth.

The pre-drive showed me a section somewhat like Forks of Credit River ... but instead of 5km of windy up and downs and blind corners its goes on for 30km+. Wow is all I can say. Lots of blind uphill, sharp corners, its a roller coaster ride.
The rest is Great lake scenery and cottage country roads.
Then more windy roads ...

I'm in.

Let me know if anyone wants to do a pre-meet and go up together. Its a 40-45 minute drive to the meeting spot in Barrie.

I am thinking of meeting at Starbucks, near Colossus Theater (Highway 400 and 407)

Starbucks address: 3900 Highway 7, Woodbridge, ON L4L 9C3

There is a Tims in the area as well if people want Tims: 3764 Highway 7, Woodbridge, ON L4L 9C3

You would drive by the Tims to reach the starbucks...or we can just meet at the Tims. Whatever is easier.

Then we jump on the 400 and head north to Barrie.

We would leave at 9:00am sharp. So try and come earlier than that.

The admin stuff on morning of the drive:

- Detailed Google maps are provided including all turns
- Pre-emtive talk on safety and following all traffic rules and regulations. Excercise Responsible judgement
- Walk through of maps
- Some spirited fun in between when safe (each driver is responsible for their actions)
- I plan to leave on time at Start
- 3-5 stops for washroom/gas/food/pictures
- All stops have address so that if group splits they can rendezvous at stop points
- suggest to bring GPS
- bring water bottles or favorite non alchoholic beverage and some snacks just in case
- 1 of the stops in between has gas and washroom
- keep all rest stop to 15 minutes or less
- End stop has food

Specific notes on this particular drive
- so far sunny skies are predicted for that sunday
- fill up to a FULL TANK at Shell station in front of mall where Starbucks in located (unless you are running late). I highly recommend this
- small certain sections have little to no cell phone reception
- key spots which I will identified by my car slowing down to a crawl due to rough road surface eg. the first railway crossing
- from Barrie startpoint the first 30-40 mins is through highway. After that the fun twisties begins. The long entourage of nice cars will make it fun and noisy along the way.
- the last 30-40 mins of the drive is through highway back to Barrie for some food
- the first of the leg of the drive my wife may drive the Maserati and if we get lost its wholly my fault in reading the maps wrong.
- Lastly Daniel Ponzini from AOL Autoblog Canada will be joining the drive to do some picture taking and collecting info for the drive for his article. If you are interested in taking him shotgun in your car in a small leg of the drive as he might be jumping from car to car in the drive please let me know. Your efforts for this is greatly appreciated.

Do you guys use FRS radio's?? I have two I can bring with me.

No problem having Ponzini ride shotgun..not sure if he wants to ride in my car instead of a Ferrari or Maserati though lol.

I had suggested this before in the past but no one really has taken into it.
I have a pair myself but since I just moved in the 905 it is going to be sometime until I unpack all the boxes.

Take em along.

He will be doing musical chairs and should be greatful to be in any of the cars including yours. The outing I attended in the horshoe region had a modified turbo powder blue M3 and it cost way more than my car and runs quicker and steers like a knife.

The owner of Pie in Barrie will rope off a section of the parking lot out front for our cars. Nice gesture on his part.

http://www.eatmypie.ca/menus.html

They offer wood fire oven baked pizza. They have been regarded highly by Urbanspoon and
Trip Advisor

You may want to check out the menu beforehand to speed up the process of ordering. I have requested for separate bills.
It will be a long day and getting in and out of there will be a good thing for some.

I find the radios to be of huge help on these types of cruises. They guy leading the pack always warns the people behind him if upcoming pedestrians (joggers, bikers) and cars coming the opposite way, to ensure maximum safety for everyone.

I will bring the two I have along...but the more the better.
