Limp Mode Official Member

Just wanted to add myself to the list of limp mode owners! Just under 2100 miles, built in July 2008 and tomorrow (10/11) marks my 2 month ownership anniversary. What a slow pig in limp mode lol!

Anyway, on my way back home the limp never returned, I floored it in 5th from like 90-140 then let off and coasted back down with no problems. I am already thinking fuel pump since at idle sometimes it is kinda rough. Always starts really fast though...

Of course I don't run any mods! But if I did, I think I would go with a SSTT during the warranty period.

Ha, well thats good that an SSTT couldnt have caused the limp. What was the temp out?

It was about 72 degrees, almost 6pm here. I also noticed that I used to average about 19.8 mpg and over the past few days has dropped down around 19.2 (without resetting, so I must be running really low to bring down that old average) so once again I am thinking fuel pump problem from what I read here. Guessing they are still putting V2 pumps into brand new 08's knowing that V3 is out already.

High temps can cause limps, but that temp shouldnt be a prob. Guess you can only drive and see if you can recreate the limp.

1 month ownership and 9k miles. Never had a limp mode yet.. (Knock on wood).
Had SSTT since 1100 miles. Than got JB3 at around 7k miles.. I drive my car like i stole it everyday and never limp yet. Highest oil temp i got was 260 which is pretty low without and oil cooler.

I've also recently become a memeber of the limp mode. Got my car on January and has about 8,000 miles on it. Not sure if i have oil cooler on my car. Weird thing is that, when my car was in limp mode the temperature was just little over 250. So i am guessing it must be something to do with the censor. Sucks to be a victim, afterall it's such a sweet ride. I am definitely feeling your pain.

Do all cars have a limp mode or only turbo cars?

My boys AMG is supercharged and it has limp mode. So maybe for most performance cars.
