Should be the same. There's a recess space on the back of the emblems for the adhesive tape. I'm sure 3M makes different thicknesses too. You'll find it at almost any auto parts store. It's the same stuff everybody uses to adhere spoilers.

You could also just buy the black emblems from **********s that come with the double sided tape already on them.

I like this DIY. I had a question though, what can you use to make it glossy? I have two badges, and I would make one matte, and one glossy black, and see which one would fit better.
