Arrow BMW Performance Power Kit now available for N54 engines (part #'s, price and diagram)

Hi,

I went to a dealer nearby and he received a notification today, which includes the part numbers for the BMW Performance Power Kit.

Here they are:
11122157663 - for cars with MSD81 (US pricing: $2065)
11122157664 - for cars with MSD80 (US pricing: $2561)

There is also a number (I don't know if its a part number) for the installation instructions, but I didn't note it.

The kit will be available for 135i, 335i and 335xi. No 535i but it may be because this model is not available in Europe.

The power kit is almost ready to be ordered, it can already be ordered from Germany. The dealer said it should be in the ordering system in a few days...

Now I know where a good part of my next month's earnings will be gone...

Diagram of Performance Power Kit:

That's close to $3k here, for what, 20 extra hp... THe only thing I would want from that kit is the beefed up cooling features...

One would be better off spending $1k for the PROcede or $579 for the JB3 PNP, and still get more HP/Torque

I think the extra 20hp and 50Nm are a bit understated (like the rest of the N54 specs), but nevertheless the power and torque is added on the whole RPM band, unlike some tunes where the extra power is only present at high RPMs. My opinion is that the kit is worth it. A custom-tuned JB+/JB3 on top of the kit would also be welcome

In Europe the cars are much more expensive than in the US. Its almost like 1EUR = 1$. I suppose the US translation of the Euro price is more like 1600-2000$.

My dealer showed me an internal BMW power graph last week, it was cleary noted that BMW focused on the lower and mid power range. I could see a quite big improvement there for both torque as HP.

You can also destilate this from the increased 80-120 km/h time increase.

Which is what I said originally... But thanks for backing it up with some Hard Data... It's not worth it... If it was more like 50-100 added HP then, maybe it would be worth it, but 20... not worth it IMO... This is BMW's poor attempt to lure some people into the tune world while maintaining warranty. IF your really worried about warranty get a DINAN tune. I don't know how DINAN's Stage 1-3 compares to the BMW Performance Kit, but I'm sure for the money it's a lot better...

I think the only reason BMW is not putting it into the +50-100hp range, is due to the fact that this would canabalize their M3 sales.
Simple sales and marketing stragety, these power upgrades will still sell and they will most likely sell to the population of 335 owners who do not frequent sites of this nature. Which I might add is a large % of 335 owners.

Because your DME needs to be updated. They can only do this on the MDS81 - so those who don't have the newer model will have to upgrade theirs.

Will the individual parts be mastered? Specifically, the driver side cooler, additional ducting and fan?

Another thing, besided the power pack, you will also need to buy an air duct separately. Probably people with a Mtech front do not need this.

that's a good question, but we wont really know until the items are released in the U.S. and added into ETK. I can only assume that the cooling upgrades will be sold individually due to there proximity to the front of the vehicle and the need for replacement in the case of a front end collision. However, the BMW performance exhaust for the 335i sedan includes a separate x-pipe which can not be purchase separately.

2.5k for older 335s would be a hard pill to swallow. Great for those with cooling issues, but if not, that is a lot of $. I was hoping for the more typical $ = Euro pricing, i.e., something in the sub 2k range.

Point is US pricing will be based on our market so don't assume it's going to be $3k because the European pricing is what it is.

EDIT...

scott@bmwhn, are those the actual prices set or based on a conversion?
I think you have a good point here...
