330i in B&W
I was experimenting with some of the photos I took earlier today, and I think this one looks much better in black and white. What do you think?

The photos look great, and b&w gives them a totally different feel. My only suggestion would be that the background seems a little sharp-which tends to look busy and take away from your focal point on the car. What did you use to sharpen the images? I use Unsharp Mask in Photoshop and it works great. I used to use the regular sharpen but it seems to sharpen things that don't need to be sharpened. The settings I use for unsharp mask are 500%, 0.2, 0. Another way to attract more attention to the car as well as decrease the noise in the background is to use the lasso to select the background and then use the filter-Blur or Smart Blur.

i think the texture in the back is a good contrast to the clean lines of the car. i cant decide if it takes away from the picture. the more i look at it, the more it works for me. i think havig a textured background thats more repetitive and less messy would have been alot better. also if you are really into black and white, try playing with color filters if not on your camera then using software like photoshop. yellow red or green will give the mood a totally different feel. in photoshop you can use monochrome setting in the channel mixer and maniuplate the color channels to create your own filter "color" either way, nice job. nice car

Thanks for all the comments. Nikki: I do use unsharpen mask with 250, and anywhere from .05 - 1. I would like to do some parking garage roof top photos this spring!
