Engine shudder

When i switch the car off the engine shakes the hole car for a second as it stops, its always done it but i was thinking today is this normal for a bmw or is there a problem, also there is a rattle around 800-900 rpm right in the band off cold start, seems like something rattling on the bulk head Ive had all the engine covers off and every panel that can be removed but its still there, have you guys any ideas. The car is a 318d 2006

No rattles but mine shudders very slightly on turn off too.

They say the vibrations of a diesel are most at very low rpms ie turning on off. The dual mass flywheels are meant to smooth these out but autos don't have these afaik.

So maybe its something to do with that...
