Locking system 335i

hey guys someting really weird is happening while drving in the car.
When you start to drive normally the car locks itself which is normal.
But while driving it will unlock/lock itself?
If anyone could shed some light on this it would be great.
Cheers

Maybe it was coded that way by the previous owner to do so.

Not sure but my 335i's electric mirrors move slightly while driving around 100km/hr for extended periods.

The coding for door locks has options for
- auto locking on or off
- at what threshold speed the doors will auto-lock
- auto-unlock when the key is ejected
These options can be individualised to 4 separate keys

As a side note, do you have comfort access? Might be the keys in your pocket being accidentally pressed.

My 335i drivers mirror sometimes adjusts itself whilst I'm parked. I get back to the car and it's pointing at the ground or pointing really left or something.

That is normal and designed to help you see the gutter

For the passenger side to do so is normal. But sometimes I start the car and the drivers side has moved somewhere randomly and doesn't auto correct like the passenger side mirror. It even points up sometimes. I noticed that it happens once I turn the car off sometimes it'll just do it's own thing.

That is wierd, the drivers side shouldn't move at all, (unless you do so.)

This has happened to me before on an x5, sound like your memory seat and mirror computer is on the way out.

Sounds like there's corrosion in the sensor/wires somewhere around the mirror, the mirror 'remembers' it's set location from the sensor by reading a electrical resistance value, if the corosion is bad enough it will cause this resistance value to change & make the sensor confused which results in mirror adjusting at random angles.

There was a thread about this issue in the main forum somewhere.

Found the DIY for cleaning the connection pins inside the motor. I'll give that a crack.
