That's sort of a ridiculous analogy.

Because you care for someone enough for a woman to buy them a gift or dinner, it's like getting a hooker?

That's not purely a monetary exchange, it's also an emotional act, and the woman in turn gives herself emotionally. After a while, the right woman doesn't need you to shower her with gifts if she's in love.

Not sure about the prostitutes you "buy" services from, but I'd be willing to bet they aren't emotionally attached to you.
