help with gps

My nav system was working great until this weekend. Now it's got this weird problem. Every time I am parked it displays the correct location but when I start driving it shows me going the opposite way. So if I am driving say 30 miles East of the starting point it shows me as 30 miles West of the starting point (middle of a lake the last time). Has anybody else experienced a similar problem? Any idea as to what might be wrong?

325xi, premium package, nav, xenon, heated seats, SG, beige with poplar

that is really weird. did you try changing different views, like perspective, facing north, etc? maybe that would reset it...

Yes, tried all that. Even did an idrive reboot a couple of times (both eject buttons and vol control pressed at the same time). That did not make a difference.

Maybe the poles are changing from north to south and south to north.

hey, and if none of that helps, just make a service appointment with your dealer. crap like that should definitely be covered by the warranty.

My nav has been generally great except for a glitch the other day. It showed me as driving thru the middle of a lake about 20-30 miles east of my actual location. I turned nav off and ejected the DVD but it was the same on restart. It was only after I shut the car off and restarted that it put me back in the right location. Haven't had the problem since. Weird!
