Balls. That guy has balls.
I would never spin a $40k car around in a crowded parking lot like that.

HAHA I told hunter that i would get those replies. It wasnt crowded, there was not one car near me. Also, it was like 12 o clock in a supermarket parking. The area where i was in was closed off and you could only go in and out in one place so i knew if there was a car coming.

I love drifting my e90, it is the most fun that you can have in your car... That being said, there are an aweful lot of curbs/ trees in that parking lot. Ill keep my drifting on the street were it is safer LOL

thats debatable.. but then again i live in miami where there always cars on the road no matter what time. so a parking lot is where i can go...I usually go to a dog track, where they have huge empty parking lots, but the guards always call the cops on me  so I get pushed to this, could be worse though. anyways Drive Safely!

He needs to practice a bit(lot) more. But he is trying. Those bends are just to be taken sideways very easily in the wet with the correct amount of countersteer and throttle, not a 180 at the end.... This is childsplay yet fun.
EDIT: We are organizing drift/track events etc for about 5 years now So go on with this kind of fun Last edited by Robin_NL; 02-16-2006 at 02:01 AM.. |

I guess that guy never met a curb close up.
I destroyed the front end on a Jetta I had many years ago doing snow stunts in a mall parking lot.

Yeah, all it would take is the car suddently catching traction to slam into a curb and really screw up the car.

Ya my friend drifted into a curb once, his rims got bent, control arm damaged, rotor broke off. Well over $2000 of damage.

I think you're having fun without taking too much risk. The only risk is hurting your e90. That would be a pitty but it would still be material damage. Moreover, you may not be extremely experienced but you seem to control your car. A video that has been shown on www.e90post.com before is this one of a Dutch Ford Sierra driver who really knows how to drift. However, he does it on a public road and that isn't very smart. Material damage isn't an issue, his car is a 'little bit' cheaper than an e90: http://www.jackal.rovecomnet.nl/teamsidewaysvol4.wmv |

Como to think of it: I was the one who posted this movie here a few months ago The car has 'special' Wanli tyres at the rear. Even only looking at the throttle makes it go sideways |

Where in Miami is that parking lot? Is that a Winn-Dixie? That's pretty cool. Man, I wanna drift so bad... too bad I got my e90 w/ Step. It's ok though. Does the open diff limit what you can do?

it actually does limit some bit, what i do is not a power over but an ebrake drift, actually i dont even know if you can call this real "drifting", but if you gave me a car a little less expensive and some tires id have no problem drifting like pro's, i made this vid a while ago and have gotten much better. The reason im not drifting like that other vid is that everyone knows, when you go drifting like that you will eventually spin and rather curb or worse, even the pro drifters crash their cars all the time. So as far as safety im fine, Hey Jflecha, a jetta is fwd am i correct? or AWD, either way snow is definatly more slippery and you definatly have no idea of what your doing. PFF trying to drift in a fwd, it can be done, but then again there is a special olympics for a reason right?
Yo dizzy this is the parking lot on 163st and collins at the intercoastal mall, gets deserted at around 9-10 and the guard is chilling with his little ipod and could care less about what you do in the lot.
