All in good time dear boy!
I'm picking the M3 up next week and will be cleaning/detailing/whatever-ing the car over the following weekend, so once it's up to the right standard I'll get the pics up. Matt |

I like the 18" on it. Just needs a drop and spacers.
Is it me or are loads of Late E46 M3's are all on 18" lol.

OK, First impressions
First, an amazing shot of the mpg on my 2 day trip. Probably 60% motorway, 20% A Road, 20% around town.
Now first impressions: Very Pleased The integration of the media system is superb in the way that music from CDs, iPhone, stored media files, and USB devices can be played back is awesome. Also, the SatNav is very responsive and shows much more detail than the E46 and is very clear. The warning symbols are not over-large as they were on the E46 Prof Nav. Dynamic routing on the Prof Nav took me off motororways onto A Roads to avoid severe congestinon. This is streets ahead of any TomTom. The fuel consumption of my E90 330d may even be slightly better than my previous E46 320d - unbelievable. However, on my drive, traffic congestion was generally quite high with frequent long periods at no more than 60-70. The Individual Audio choice was not a mistake, the sound is very clear with tightly controlled bass. The rear speakers are much smaller than those in my earler Harmon Kardon E46, but the sounds is definitely superior (The HKs were good though). I like the new iDrive; never used an iDrive before (I've had it a week) and it is coming naturally now. Pleased The sheer torque of the 330d is amazing, the display recommends a shift to 6th at 50mph, and it can hold and accerate from there very easily. Manual gearbox was a good choice and driving down the undulating A34 meant I could easily stay in 6th all the time in the busy traffic doing 60-70. I went for leather and the seats are very comfortable, much more comfortable than I expected them to be, so this was a good choice. Soundproofing and the ride is superb, 6 pots definitely give a smoother ride Neutral The grey leather is a bit lighter than I expected it to be and so will show the dirt (I ordered it blind), but I like t. The track advance button on the steering wheel works the opposite way round to that on the E46; pressing the button pointing forward selects the earlier not the next track - very odd. Now the run-flats. I am definitely getting a harder ride than my 18" non-runflats on my E46. However, the shocks seem to dampen the road imperfections well. Lets say it is a different rather than a worse ride. Niggles I cannot get the volume equal on the CD, Radio and mp3s off my iPhone and neither can I get a consistent volume from the satnav spoken voice. I've not transferred any music to the internal HD yet. This is probably a set up problem. Although the iPhone fully synchs with the car via Bluetooth, it will not play music off the iPhone unless the iPhone is in play mode - cannot set it via the car controls. The Journey computer only calculated the avg mpg in increments of 1mpg whereas the E46 did it in 0.1mpg increments. I can get 53.3mpg and 52.3mpg, but anywhere in between is not possible . Not sure how I am going to get speed cameras onto the hard drive. However, my V1 works well BMW did not supply a Nav DVD; I think they should have Overall - Very pleased. BMW have superbly engineered this car, and although I paid a fortune for it, I have no regrets. Thats it for now.

Great mini review...im glad you are enjoying your new ride
as for sat nav dvd...did you have a word with your dealer?? like i said before im positive i saw a new copy of the 2008-02 dvd in the glove box of the demo car in warrington...i was surprised to see it after what you had said about it being missing. as far as i can tell its the same dvd maps used in the old idrive system...but i could be wrong as i thought the new system used more extended maps???? if it is the same dvd....and you are after the speed cams you could always try downloading the dvd with speed cams preinstalled and trying it if you are brave enough. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4346...EU_SPEED_CAMS_ |

Hey
Congratulation... this looks a beautiful car indeed. Very impressed with the consumption too... more than 50 miles per gallon for 245hp and 152g/co2 BMW have once again demonstrated their superiority in building state of the art engines Hope you'll enjoy the car ST |

No, I will keep them. I don't push the car to the limits that some of the guys here clearly do. I expected a slightly harder ride and that is what I have got. Besides, I couldn't justify the cost of the change.
One more comment on the MPG; the traffic kept me at a pretty constant 60-70mph. I reckon 50mpg is achievable at a constant 70mph.
