Handles just as well? Are you insane?

FWD being an advantage?

Down a tortuous, undulating, off camber B road the Focus is a far, far better place to be.

The BMW crashes and bangs and skips about. Makes you wince.

Its probably one of Fords or Vauxhalls.
3 series sales figures are only JUST below that of the Insignia and VW Polo, I see plenty of people using BMWs as a family car (my self included).

Going to be interesting to see how BMW reacts to the program, shame I'm at work all day on a 24hr shift

Somehow I'm happy that this will likely make BMW sit up and do something about it, but I cant help feeling that I'd prefer if it wasn't broad casted on TV for everyone watching to know.
Soon as my neighbours set out for work the next morning, they will be looking at my car in a different way.

Be prepared for all the jokers tomorrow morning telling us how easy our cars are to steal. Should also encourage all the petty thieves who haven't thought of this yet to get onto Ebay and buy the kit needed to start stealing. That should help our insurance premiums for sure ....

Things like this are starting to piss me off with BMW. I know other manufacturers have their faults but the last time it was the cracked wheel saga, now this. Suppose that's only two but mate of mine know the heckling winds me up. I just hope by the time I get home in 3 weeks, all the ordinary folk will have moved onto Big Brother, the X-Factor or some other moronic TV show.

And then of course there's the issue of WD bringing it to everyone's attention and then the actions afterwards. Just hope BMW do something rapidly afterwards.

I really can't see BMW recalling all of the cars involved, even if is possible to do something about the problem - they will simply cite their Thatcham acreditation & requirement to comply with EU regulations

My point exactly! Well said.

Oh and with a little snow...not 'smoke'...FWD is terrific, RWD is absolute crap.
(Mind you having said that nobody seems to be able to cope with snowy road driving these days unless they've bought expensive special boots which is all sales propaganda as far as I can see.)

RWD + winter tyres.. No problem.

Only someone who is too cheap to buy the winters thinks RWD is crap in winter.

I've driven my last 3 cars all RWD throughout winter. 300bhp+ in two cases. No issue whatsoever.

Just sent the following tweet.. Made me feel better anyway..

@bbcwatchdog Do you REALLY think doing the BMW ODB piece tonight is going to help owners of the car? Insurance premiums up, more thefts. FFS
