I guess that would depend more on mileage/vehicle condition. I would say around 50K it should at the very least be considered. He can get somewhat of an idea without pulling the intake when installing your plates. I would go with a water/meth kit at the time of install, but that's just me.

I also have a set of brand new EGR blocking plates for sale. I've decided to go ahead and delete the cooler with the EGR all at the same time.

It would depend how far along the CBU is. My car had 30000 miles before block was installed. Many of us have tried to do preemptive action of putting block on early to try to avoid any cleaning.

If you need help I'm up in cedar park. Takes some time to get everything out of the way. Worst case you remove it a few days before inspection so the codes disappear then reinstall.

Where can I get the block-off plates? Is there a site or do I need to PM someone on the board who makes them?

Anyone have any luck with tuning and removing the SES codes? I blocked off my EGR this week and I got the following two codes from from my Torque app which where expected.

P0401 and P240F

I had it tuned and dyno a couple days ago, but the tuner is having a hard time with getting those two codes to go away.

Gained 50 ft/lb and 65 hp from the tune.

There are a few tuners that can write those codes off. Renntech, evo something, and maybe a member here on the forum. Do you have to perform a smog check where you live?
