07 Coupe Reveal Molding cracking

So as I was wiping my windshield off with a microfiber rag, I noticed some black gooey stuff on the rag. I noticed my windshield molding (on top) is cracking and just literally melting off..

I've searched and this molding is called Reveal molding, I found a DIY to change it on a e90 but the e92 seems to be a bigger piece (runs down the side). Is there any difference to changing it? I've heard the windshield has to be lifted up but then I also read that this is false, and the dealer or whoever is just trying to make some money out of it.

Any help on this issue would be highly appreciated! It really looks like crap and bothering the crap out of me, thanks guys.

any info on this? I just got the part from the dealership. Was wondering if it was as easy as the e90 one or if the windshield actually has to be pulled for this one?
