I remember I hit like 3 different bumps in downtown Chicago within an hour driving ( I hate the city) and I thought I was fine. Heading out to the suburbs vibrations were present at 60-70 mph. Took the wheels off put stocks on and 3 bent rims. If I were to claim anything through the city it would take months and most probably a BIG NO. Good luck with your situation. Its just a car at the end of the day and with ALL STATE your in good hands.

Eh, parts are over 1000 dollars, alone. My deductible is 250. Why shouldnt I get insurance involved?

What everyone on here said is right. Once the BMW tech looks at it...that quote will change a ton and new shit will be added on...shit that can't be seen until parts are removed.

Don't know what insurance you have but make sure they don't try to send you to their body shop to get work done. Stand your ground and have BMW take care of everything.

They might try to send you to their shop and put replacement parts on your car and shit. Don't let them finger you around. Stay firm and have BMW take care of you.
I was able to choose the shop I wanted, no problem. It's at a BMW dealership.

The hole was clearly large but, I never saw it. I was cresting a hill and changing lanes, at night, in the boonies, when I hit it.

On non runflats your drink would have gone up a couple of inches and come back down again. Yay nonrunflats. By the way, did you get your bubbled sidewall tires fixed?

Sorry, my Sarcasmdar isnt working well. I remember driving for like 20k miles with a bubble in my OEM rubber. During that time, I wouldnt take the car on long trips because I was worried it could blow out. But it worked okay and I replaced the tire when it wore out (which didnt take long) with a nonrunflat. Runflats do give peace of mind on tight roads with no shoulder though. I like the idea but I cant afford to replace a $300 tire for every pothole I hit.

No pictures of the bad parts, yet.

Those are not runflats. Somehow, the thing still held air.

Its strange, but I had a dream last night that I hit a pothole in my e92 and completely destroyed 2 wheels and tires......I don't even have e92 anymore
Funny. I had a dream I let my friend drove my car and he crashed it into a garage. It destroyed the front 2 wheels and tires and as well as my front bumper and hood. All I could think of was a m-tech bumper lol!

Runflat or not would have made no difference.

Not implying that they would have. Just saying that, they are not runflats.

Sounds like you hit a mini swimming pool. I'm glad you're fine though. I avoided a pothole once and almost spun out. Thinking back on it, I should've just smashed into it rather than spinning out of control and potentially hitting other cars/pedestrians.

That's how it felt. I saw the hole just as I was hittin it. That space was darker than the rest of the road, as though it reflected none of the light that entered it.

And yeah, much as I want to swerve, it's better for everyone to just hit watever, in the event that you might loose control when avoiding an object. At least, you have a legit reason for colliding with whatever you collide with.

Trying to. This dealer seems reputible. The reviews for their service department were very good. Hopefully, the frame is not bent, as well.
