Guy on r3v painted needles with testors model spray paint. Came out pretty nice imo:

Yes you can, You just make some paper flaps to stop the light going into the other. I also love how the needles came out.

It is possible, all that needs to be done is leave the 6 LEDs on each side amber and change the LEDs used for the back light of the LCD screen to white.

I would suggest using red VHT Night Shades to paint the needles. A couple light coats works great. Sharpie sucks! I never could get that to look right.

I didn't realize you guys were talking about differentiating LCD and gauge faces/needles. I thought the goal was different lighting to the needles than the gauge faces.

In either case, I've got an M3 DCT logic board I'd like to code to my car (before buying a complete cluster), just don't have the time to start messing around with it.\

Getting the shifting rev-limit and DCT shift lights working would make it worthwhile.

I was talking about differentiating the gauge faces and needles. So you answered me by saying it was not possible with using dif color leds for each.

On another note, which testors paint exactly was used to paint the needles?

Mine is like this. Needles are painted transparent paint.

Good luck. I've got the whole car done. The radio is the one that will screw it all up. It will NEVER match the rest of the car. So I am putting a tablet in its place.
