Ouch!!! Kenneth, you're telling someone to buy a used 2009 335....with no guarantee , that it is a good used car?? I believe owning not 1, 2,3,4, but 5x 335's 2008,09,10's and presently a 2012 and previously a 135 vert and 2 x 328's that I am a lil' qualified

There are many , many expensive issues that can go wrong with it, and I am pretty certain you all know the flaws, so I won't go into them. DYODD

I'll tell you where to start , problems ( hpfp, lpfp, waste gates, injectors etc) .

How all you women doing?? And George I see a huge dent on your car pics.

The number of n54s you owned does NOT qualify you to be the expert. cos you barely owned them more than a year each plus you barely put miles in them. I have owned my cars generally over 10 years, this 335 is 5.5 years and the only issue was the HPFP under warranty. If it fails again it will cost me a couple hundred $, no biggie.

IMNSHO, the issues the n54 have are nothing, the engine is bulletproof, all the issues you mentioned are just peripherals, annoying yes, likely to have catastrophic result like engine failure, no!

3 out of the 5 had all the failures I mentioned...and as u say, I baby them, don't race them, yet I had all them extremely annoying issues...all I can say is thank God..all issues were under warranty Bottom line is, you tell the guy to buy it .. what if , 3 minutes on the highway (mr.limp mode) shows his face? He's better off paying 1500 more and getting it certified by BMW. I believe , my experience visiting BMW dealer ships and gettign to know their families on a first name basis...and counting every tile in that place ..makes me an expert. 1674 tiles on the floor and walls, 238 in the wash room.

So I ended up picking up a set of all weather mats from Hamel (those are awesome, literally molded to the car and they have Xdrive on them :3)

Ill probably take the Afe intake from the list, brake wise, i didn't even get the chance to assess the condition of mine.

Took new pics this morning after the car wash.
Condition of the car is a lot better then I expected, I have a minor dent on my hood, my front grille was broken so I broke it completely, ill do a better job of it once weather is better, did a quick plasti dip of the kidneys yesterday as well, at this point I freaking love this car coming from Hondas.

This was my old car a few years back at the TLC (TRAC lapping club)

Slightly used Front HP+ pads, (kenneth)
Used set of Racing Brake wheel studs and nuts (kenneth)

I have a set of BMS dual cones for sale. I think I'm supposed to have a set of dual Spectre metal filters too, but for the life of me I can't think where they went.

I also have an awesome strut bar! And lots (and I mean, LOTS) of wheel bolts that I'll give away for free.

Thanks for all the input. I've looked in more detail about the car I was about to get and found out that it was a rebuilt. Good price but no thanks!

I want to the dealer and the sales even told me to wait since there will be plenty of 2009-2010 lease returns.

He'll be on the look out for the right one that I want.
Alpine white with red interior would be awesome. 335xi manual with sport package minimum.

There is no reason for you to rush..there are plenty out there, I strongly suggest you buy a certified series if you plan on keeping it for atleast 4 years. Avoid major accidented cars, and simply listening to the engine on these cars you can actually tell if she is purring correctly... The issues I encountered on some of mine were issues you can actually find videos of on youtube. Example.. waste gates, limp mode, loud pinging injector sounds and so on.. If you ever consider an automatic... 2009 white xi (sport) boston interior never accidented or raced,.. I may be able to help.

Looking for a car recently I realised its pretty darn hard to get the perfect set of options/specs when buying used, for example, mine is black on black(perfect), 09(was supposed to get an 07, great!), 6 speed man(would have bought an auto), xi(was only going for an i) but no sport package...aka no sport seats/susp/oil cooler

If it makes you feel any better, they didn't put oil coolers on sport package E90s until well into 2009. So if you got an 07 or 08 you wouldn't have had one anyway. And there is no difference on the xi as far as the suspension goes - unlike the I which gets a lower/stiffer ride, the xi retains the SUV look.

A far as seats go, check with Recyclage St-Bruno. They deal with BMWs, and if you get lucky and find a car that had, for instance, engine water damage (ie interior untouched) then you can get a nice cheap set of sports seats.

You're probably talking about the xi, cos my 2007 sport/premium package had oil cooler If you weren't talking about the xi, then you were talking out of your ass bwahaha! :

Ahh wait we had this conversation before and I'm indeed talking out of my ass.

*NON* sport models are supposed to get oil coolers from 2009 on E92s or something like that, I think.

Anyway - you don't NEED an oil cooler unless you know for a fact you'll push the car so hard on the track that it'll need it. The stock BMW cooling is fairly good - even if you hit limp mode because of overheating, take a lap or two's worth of parking lot time and it'll get a second wind.

I certainly did. I took the day off. Topped off the tank and went power sliding in the F150 4x4 all over town. What a hoot.
