No snow/ice around to compare to the OEM unit (which would spin only one wheel), but on the "wet grass" test (it's the best I could do with the reality at hand) the Quaife spins both tires equally well ... and got me in trouble with the wife for leaving two strips in the side yard.

So TDIwyse, have you had a chance to really put the Quaife to a test yet?

Yes. Been putting full fuel to the drivetrain. It's qualitatively "better", but I haven't been able to quantify "how much" with any data that I feel is worth making public.

Interestingly, this weekend with my Continental DW summer tires on and ~80F air temps on nice dry, smooth, concrete roads, was able to trigger the flashing traction control light in DTC mode all the way up at ~4000 rpm's in 3rd gear on the roadway when hitting full fueling. I'm really liking how the Ecotune remap plays with my custom stuff...

Good stuff. You need to find some nice bends and curves in the road where you can power out of them. I think you'll really notice the Quaife there.

Yes, powering out of turns is where I noticed the difference. The rear end doesn't want to step out as much, or better said, it corrects itself more readily when it does start to step out.

This post (and link) just made me a future customer. Wow, impressive work.

We typically wait till we have 10+ cores (both new and used) on hand, then we have to run the machining process summarized here:
http://www.vacmotorsports.com/blog/v...-how-we-do-it/

If BMW didn't cost engineer (and cock block) the 135/335/535 diffs by welding the crownwheel to the carrier, this would all go MUCH easier. The ring and pinion quality is *very* high, so we can rest assured the diffs will be as strong/reliable as possible stock or when paired with a top quality unit like Quaife or OS Giken.

Steve Bailey has also left VAC. Wonder what's up.

Yea, it seems they have a very solid reputation. From what I've been told thus far, the price point will put them ahead. Good to have another option....

Yep for me it's about down time. I can't send my core away and have them rebuild it for me. Talking to Stephen at MFactory I got the impression they're not even actively looking for any.

Love it man. Way easier to get the power down now. I also added the Delrin Racing solid differential mounts:

Link

I get more whine inside the cabin over the softer stock ones.

TorqueAddict went for a drive in my car this past weekend. Perhaps he could chime in with his thoughts too.
