Question Slimline Roof Rails

Morning Gents,

Just about to complete a deal on a 318i M Sport touring and looking to replace the normal roof rails with the low profile LCI ones that came on the sport plus model.

I can't find any details on the internet and struggled finding part numbers.

I've read a few posts on hear but not much is mentioned on the forum either.

I believe they cost around £290 a pair but how how much work is involved in swapping out the rails? can you get them direct from any company in Germany/Europe?

Thanks in advance.

You can buy them here in black
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuin...item27e2f06576

Other colours and part numbers here:
http://www.bmminiparts.com/DiagramVi...325&MOSP=48836

If you request a price from bmminiparts it will probably be cheaper than the ebay ones too.

Fitting is a matter of taking down each corner of the roof lining so you can access the bolts that hold them in place

... and fit them! Let us know how you get on dropping the headlining and if you have any tips on removing/loosening the trim. Cheers.

Yeah, I've seen that and remember the first words - 'I'm crazy'

That's why I'd like to hear how you get on mate.

Im happy to post some pics and my findings, but it won't be for a while as I have to pick them up from Sam at some point and then get them sprayed

When i get round to doing it i'll post a few pics up. not sure if i'll get my friendly local machanic to do it for me as i'm a little worried about ripping my car apart and then trying to make it look as if its never been touched.
I'm not known for my gentle touch.
