Being hit by a car is shit. Let me tell ya.

I was hit crossing the road with my bike as a kid by a car doing about 40mph.

I got stung in the neck while out on a bike ride with a friend. The stinger snapped off in my neck so i crossed the main road to the petrol station to pull it out (instead of going home which was almost as near!!)

Crossing back over I was so pre-occupied with my neck that I didn't notice the car coming. My friend shouted "STOP" - Which if i hadn't I would have crossed without being hit, but cos i stopped the car just hit my bike and ran into me knocking me to the floor.

Luckily the driver had seen me and slammed on the anchors so probably only hit me doing 20mph, but I can tell you. Even a slight knock is nasty. The guy who hit me almost had a panic attack. He put my mangled bike in his boot then put me on the back seat. I thought he was kidnapping me until he asked me where I lived.

Nice of him to take me home though and face my mother!

Anyway, story over!

Glad shes OK mate.
Now you've given me flashbacks. I once gave CPR to a girl that had been struck by a car. It did no good.

But I'm certainly glad Steve's incident turned out better than mine.

I was hit by a taxi in London 30 years ago last week. Damned LOOK RIGHT. I did but it was a one way street with traffic from the left.

Steve, as stories go, this has to be one of your best.

Hope there's no lasting damage to any involved parties.

All the best.
