Angry Cannot adjust audio volume level on startup...

Has anyone else had this issue?

When you first start your car the radio, CD, or iPod comes on at the same volume you left it at last. You try to turn down down the volume from the steering wheel controls and the volume knob on the console but nothing happens. Then after about 20 seconds the volume goes down.

This has happened to me 3 times in the past week already and it irritates the hell out of me because when I turn my car off the volume is usually loud. To get an ear full of loud music first thing in the morning and nothing short of turning the car off to shut it up is extremely annoying!

This happens to me as well... annoying and seems to have been more prevalent after my most recent software 'upgrade' ... also noticed tat the software in iDrive often has strange pregnant pauses when the system is trying to do two thins at once i.e. connect a Bluetooth phone and load up a CD...

I tolerate it as a minor inconvenience but that awkward pause is odd and oft annoying

It's like windows - it needs some time to get going and booted up!

Try unlocking your car before you get to it. It might lessen the boot up time.
It's directly related to how long it takes to boot up the system modules. BT works the same way and that's annoying to get a call as soon as you start driving off because it takes a while to be able to connect the call.

good point... I have been using comfort access and entering the car that way thre is nearly zero time from unlock to car start... comfort access is awesome in my opinion...

Umm, No I find the exact opposite to be true, my volume is always turned down from wherever I had it when I get back into the car.

The BT delay is a real bitch. On my 325 the switch to BT was instant as soon as the car was started, but in my 335, its a long as delay. The 335 has iDrive, maybe that was a mistake.

I also get the BT delay. POS takes almost 5 minutes to work sometimes. It shows as connected on my phone and NAV screen. When I make a call I hear nothing, hang up, redial and then the volume comes on. Then the person on the other end is like "why did you call and hang up?"

The audio issue just started happening. It never did this before...

Happens to me sometimes. I don't have BT. It's really annoying if I was driving with the top down last. Then the stereo is way too loud when I get in the next time. Guess I should plan ahead...
