Cool - are you getting the matching single mass ally flywheel too?

I'd be interested how an SMF drives comfort wise.

You decide.
Different products, both seem very competent and have been in wide use in the USA.
Both have strengths and weaknesses when compared to one another.

Nice one DB!
Yep I am using the lazy mans unplug the connector in the boot method, as I like to put it back in place on longer runs etc. The one feature I wish I had was the JB4 ability to stwich it 'on the fly'

Well re the vacum, I had a though it would be this, but its so funny watching it as so rarely in daily driving do I get properly into the boost.

No, I'll replace my stock dual mass with a new one (as I don't trust to resurfacing the old one).

I've given it a thought to acquire a single mass lighter flywheel, but in the end decided against it as the car is my daily driver and I'm pretty sure the chatter would get on my nerves after some time. You certainly get some performance benefits out of a single mass FW, but at least for me they were not worth the diminished comfort on a daily basis. In any case, the car has more than enough power, and now with the Öhlins suspension I'm also really happy how it drives (and brakes with the Performance Friction BBK).

How can I decide without buying both.

Can anyone else elaborate on the various functions on both?

Im quite new to the BM scene so trying to do some catch up.

With a little research mate. Try searching for the numerous threads on here about both.
Much is written on the US side of the forum aswell.

I think it boils down to price difference (JB wins), flash vs piggyback(Personal pref), ease of install (Cobb wins)...

Well, I've only just got the Öhlins coilover installed, so it's a bit early for a review. Also, currently the road conditions with the cold and snow are so bad that I can't really drive the car fast anyway, and I want to go to the Nürburgring before saying anything definite anyway.

However, what I can already say is that the Öhlins is far better than my previous Bilstein B16 RC. Ride height can be configured in a far wider range, there are no clunking noises from the front dampers, and above all it's substantially more comfortable - while still being just as sportive and with minimum roll as the Bilstein at its best. I'll have to see whether the other factor that annoyed me - a vertical movement from the rear axle at high speeds on bumpy motorways - has also been eliminated.

Well I'm only Stage 1 so if the U.S posts are anything to go by then I should be around 370bhp and 400lb/ft, maybe a little more not to mention I think our fuel might be of better quality here too.

I'm having it run at AMD in Essex, I've used them before and their readouts were always pretty spot on for stock numbers on previous cars.

Not too shabby JJ

Whereabouts are you in Surrey?
If I recall, did you not buy the car @ Vines of Redhill?

Have you not considered Surrey Rolling Road? They are surely nearer than AMD.

I'm really looking forward to doing some more testing this weekend, it felt very fast before though.

Yes you're right, it was a Vines car. I'm from Reigate and as far as I know Surrey RR is passed Woking, somewhere near the Top Gear studio, right? I've been there before on a Subaru day if it's the one I'm thinking of which makes it about equal distance to AMD which is Thurrock. I use AMD as they do promotions for car clubs, £35 for two runs so despite the toll charges at Dartford I'm guessing Surrey RR can't beat that, not that I've asked.

A fellow Reigatian

SRR is not far from Woking over in Longcross next to the M3.
TG Track is further sth not far from Cranleigh.

I'm guessing there's not much in it in terms of distance between AMD & SRR & £35.00 for two runs is good value.
