Best non-runflats to fit

Hi Gang,

My rear Perelli runflats are nearly ready for replacing, and I have decided to go non-runflat for various reasons. (ride, cost)

But I would like some guidance as to which tyres i should use.
The US forum is ful of advice, but mostly their tyres are different to Aussie choices, so I am here on the Aussie forum.

My primary requirements are ride quality and price, I don't race my car, so don't need performance.

Also, is it OK going rear normal, front runflats, or do I need to do them all at once?

I own a 2006 320D M-Sport, so I have the M-sport rims and suspension.

The tyres are 225/40/7 front, and 255/40/17 rear

Thanks!

I think it depends on price range. But anything will be cheaper than the runflats.

I've only used Yoko Advan Sport, Pirelli P-zero Rossos and Pirelli P-zero Nero.

The Rossos is the best of the lot but most $$. They didn't last long though

The Yokies were good as well, but not as good as the rossos - they lasted about 20,000 km

The Nero, personally I hated them. They didn't look right on the car, no side wall protection, traction I felt the other 2 were better. no idea about durability.

It seems like the Michellins PSS or other is all the rage now. ie the same ones as on the M3?

Seperately how did you find the Pirelli RFTs? presumably these are P-zeros. How do they compare to the bridgestones?

I've only had Pirelli's on my Beemers, so I can't compare, sorry!

I'm in the same boat mate, so reading with interest. Budget is 500-550 per tyre is this realistic for good N-RFs for a 335i. Like the OP I don't track.

cheers

Joe

assuming you are on 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 it will come down to the following cost + 250ish shipping add probably another 200 for tax if you are unlucky.

and thanks for the compliment
