Swap out heated steering wheel

I tried searching this but got lots of various steering wheel threads without finding the answer.

If you have a heated steering wheel and swap with a non heated steering wheel (M3, etc), will the new wheel not being plugged into the heating circuit throw a code?

i swapped my 2009 e92 heated steering wheel to a MSport non heated. No codes thrown.
