Just wanted to add. If you have an e9x with a build date before 02/07 your vehicle will have an frm1 module. I was unable to clear the bulb error code until I upgraded to frm2.

Also, did you find that the outer angel eye was stable enough, even though you only attached them via the bottom screw? I plan to do it the same way you did it, just removing the bottom screw part of the outer on the stock eyes, epoxying them to bottom of the new angel eye, done. Thank you so much for the help man. I really appreciate it.

this is the only one I could find now... I can't find one with wiring but it pretty much connects to the old angel eye connector.. and yes epoxing it to the tab from the OEM ring is the best way to go because the top of new one is held by the wires and the bottom you will secure with your epoxy and the old tab, make sure to trim the old tab corners to make them smaller so it can wiggle because you might need some room when installing new ring!

Has anyone heard of any longevity problems with these? Just seems like a pain if these go out at some point then you'll have to go all the way back into the headights to replace the rings. Thinking of tackling this this summer when it gets back to some warm weather.

I did it twice on my friend's e90 and it was a pain to open the headlights... the sealant that they have is so much harder to detach and we spent a lot of time trying to get them open but it's not impossible! and they definitely look great once done!

any tips for opening? how did you reseal? also, any chance you have info on how to do the wiring? from what i have been reading on wasteland's DIY on m3post you have to tap Brown + red to angel eye H8 bulb harness and white to low beam power on xenon ballast but i still feel like i am going into this blind.

when opening use heat but be careful when bending the black part of the light housing so it doesn't snap. When you paint it let it dry for a day at least before you start putting them together because you may scratch the paint off easily if you start messing with it before it's completely dry...
