Top Gear-new series

I know it's getting a bit long in the tooth now,but it's still worth recording on sky to forward through the fluff.
Anyway, Sunday-8pm...

Given how TG is a halo BBC programme (and how expensive it is, given it's shot so well) I can't believe how poorly it's publicised. I remember thinking the exact same thing last time a series was days from starting and I'd seen nada in terms of advertising.

I think the halo has slipped somewhat.According to my sky+,it's only a six episode run.
First one featuring a special on the E-type.

Jeremy Clarkson celebrates the 50th birthday of the Jaguar E-type by driving a modern, half a million pound interpretation of this classic sports car before putting on a typically low key birthday party involving live music, classic fighter planes and a group of Royal Marines.
Meanwhile, Richard Hammond is in South Africa to test a bigger, even more rugged alternative to the famous Hummer, while James May meets up with gold medal winning British Olympian Amy Williams for a wintry test of the latest Mini rally car.
Plus, the power crazed BMW 1-series M is on the test track and another top celebrity guest takes their place in the Reasonably Priced Car.

Sounds good, lets hope it matches the blurb.

That's not the one Hoops is bringing in, is it?!
I'd imagine if you were Hammond's size that'd almost seem full Hummer size!!

Top gear has been 6 episodes for several series yet.

And it's still my favourite show on TV. I enjoy the entertainment just as much as the car segments and can't understand why some of you are don't enjoy it?

Don't get me wrong,I (we?) do enjoy it,it's just that it doesn't seem fresh anymore-the jokes and features all cover old ground(the Albania and norway episodes of the last run,for example) -maybe they need new presenters to shake things up?
However,it is what is is and it would probably be quite hard to keep a programme that has been in this format since 2002, fresh.
It's certainly not my favourite programme, but I'm not a hater,I do enjoy it all the same.
You obviously do like it,so fill your boots!

+1

Also it's not as funny as it was. All the "accidents" & "mishaps" are so obviously deliberate.

It's just overly scripted. The show should carry a US style warning:

"Some scenes have been added/edited for dramatic effect".

It's a bit too scripted these days for my liking, especially the "spontaneous" news discussion. The format is a bit tired & presenters are too much like caricatures of themselves as well now.

I'll still watch it though

Sheps is right about the lack of publicity - that coupled with the endless repeats makes it hard to actually know when a new series is on!

There's a lot of fluff!

I wonder if you can get a sky remote remapped to FF faster?

They filmed up the road in Chilham Village, would have liked to have gone, but they took over the place, access was, well difficult.

Didn't see a single advert for the new series and only heard rumor of it through another forum. Checked the synopsis on the TV guide and it sounded like a repeat so didn't bother watching. heard it wasn't a repeat so checked iPlayer yesterday and the episode on their is a repeat. What the fuck is going on????

It's because the new series hasn't started yet!
Everything on the Iplayer will be a repeat from the last series.
