Which pipe? If you're talking about the main pipe just before it goes into the muffler it's just a hair above 2.5. Since it's Euro it is not the standard 2.5" that we use here in the states but that's what it's closest to. What are you needing the measurment for?

The E90 muffler does not do anything in terms of pollution. It only reduces sound. If you took off your catalytic converter then you will have problems. Easier said, your car will pass emissions fine. |

I'd like to do an adjustable exhaust like my C6 Z06. That way when I'm alone I can have it loud and when my wife's in the car I can close the by-pass and have it go through the muffler.

2.5" Magnaflows are perfect IMO. Aggressive above 4000rpm. No drone at highway cruising. |

for those of you who are getting reduced gas mileage, you probably didnt reset you car's adaptations to the previous setup with a muffler.
try this: 1. disconnect battery 2. leave overnight disconnected 3. wake up in the morning and re-connect the battery 4. turn on car 5. start driving right after you turn it on 6. after the eingine is warm (~5 min driving), then start to rev it higher and drive the crap out of the engine for a few minutes (~5min) 7. then, do whatever you want. you can keep driving if you want to, or go home this process resets your car's computer's adaptations to the previous setup and allows it to adapt to the new setup. im not sure what effects disconnecting the battery has on a car with i-drive, so if your car has i-drive do it at your own risk! but on cars without i-drive, once you re-connect the battery, you have to reset the date and time in the car. |

Yeah you did express your opinion, but let's look at what you said. Quote:
Don't be there thinking you are all that, thinking you know all there is about "performance." It's people like you who brag about how high class they are, but not knowing how childish they are. Enough said....

You gotta lighten up my friend. Don't let things that don't even matter like internet message boards get under your skin. Maybe I didn't say that the nicest way I could, maybe I was having a bad day, you don't know. It's not the first time I've said something that someone won't like, and it probably won't be the last, and I'm willing to bet you've said something that someone didn't like at least once or twice yourself. Just chill out and have a good time, call me a dumbass if you want when I say something dumb, I don't mind. We're all on the same team though. |
