Ok so I downloaded all the files needed so when I receive my cable I can jump right in.. Well I was just curious so I decided to try and open one of the applications(inpa and ncesexpert) and it says

\"can\'t run 16 bit window programs\" cannot load in the 16 bit windows subsystem because it is a win32.dll

What\'s that mean?


And when I try to open inpa it says
\"the program cant start because api32.dll is missing from your computer\"
I google searched for a api32.dll download and could not find one...

What should I do? Thanks.

Is it because i don't have the cable pluged in?

when i was following the instructions i got to the part where you had to do windowsbutton+r and open up the device managment...then find port etc..
well port didnt come up so i skipped that part since i dont have the cable yet...


edit: btw I HAVE A 64 BIT WINDOWS 7 COMPUTER. IT WORKS WITH THAT CORRECT?

so how did the guy in the coded bmw succesful!! thread use his windows 7? did he just have 32bit or something?

is there ANY way to make this work with 64 bit, since my laptop is 64 bit >.<?

Run INPA and NCSExpert in Windows XP mode on your laptop. Windows XP mode is a 32bit virtualized OS. I've been doing this for a year. works great

Well most netbooks run Windows 7 32 bit

But XP Compatibility Mode comes with Windows 7 so that should be great.

Download VMware and install Windows XP.
Download and install BMW standard tools 2.52 or 2.10 if you can find it.
Download and updated ISTA-SP Daten 2.41-2.42 version.
Code car.

Stop wasting time on x64 installation, it won't work. The application wasn't made for it.
Yes, the later versions of the toolset support Windows 7 compatibility which was 2.10+ but there harder to find those versions since there so new and not shared.

Read up on coding before you starting messing things up in the car.

I have the same problem running 64bit win7, what did you download? I change the compatibility mode to Windows XP With service pack 3 and it doesn't work. I still get the file missing error.

Give this one a try... NCS Expert requires a different set of files to run on x64.
