freaking Sonata can do 147 mph, so I will say: 176mph for the 335i

So I guess the sequelae is where will this speed run be accomplished? USA or Euro? My bet is on the euro guys. In fact, I suggest that the Scandinavian crew kidnap Shiv on the dynoday there and take him south to Germany to one of the serious speed tracks and settle this issue.

Well for what it is worth I have been at 135 at the end of 4 gear, so I am guessing the 155mph limit is in the mid to upper 5 gear range... but I am probably wrong...

Here is something from Car and Driver on Steptronic

DRIVETRAIN
Transmission: 6-speed manual
Final-drive ratio: 3.08:1

Gear: Ratio: Mph/1000 rpm Max test speed
I 4.06 5.8 40 mph (7000 rpm)
II 2.40 9.7 68 mph (7000 rpm)
III 1.58 14.8 104 mph (7000 rpm)
IV 1.19 19.7 138 mph (7000 rpm)
V 1.00 23.4 144 mph (6150 rpm)
VI 0.87 26.9 144 mph (5350 rpm)

So I think even without the PROcede we could see 165 easily... the beauty of it is the car is as smooth at 135 as it is at 65mph

Who really cares? This thing is FAST as sh!t!!! And, unless you're in a car with a very solid suspension and steering that can handle these high speeds without being blown off the road (like a Porsche 911 Turbo, Lambo, Ferrari, Vette, etc.), anything above the 150mph is just downright scary!

Hey sflgator... I have read several of your post's and have determined that you probably won't BS someone... at least to hard .... Can you really tell the difference in the car with the PROcede????? I just wish someone would post some new videos of their car doing standing starts or roll ons... something.. I really want to get the PROcede but am still wondering if I will feel the difference....

could you say it is like driving a Z06 corvette vs a reg. Vette?

I know this is off topic.. maybe this can be a new thread or something.... we need an update on how the PROcede cars are doing....

An emphatic YES!!!! The C6 'Vette vs. 'Vette Z06...that's probably a fair analogy. I mean...don't you think YOU could tell the difference if suddenly you add another 57 WHP and 92 lb.-ft. of RWTQ to your car (those were my numbers w/ the XEDE; the PROcede should add even more)????

It's not like just adding an exhaust or an intake, and you say..."well, I think I feel a difference...my "butt dyno" tells me it's faster. No, no, no...an XEDE-equipped (or PROcede-equipped) 335i IS much faster than stock, and anyone can tell the difference, just by stepping on the gas at least 1/2 throttle, when the twin turbos kick in!!!! There is no question about this.

If you take a back-to-back test drive with a stock 335i and an XEDE or PROcede-equipped 335i, you'd come out saying "Holy Sh!t...this PROcede-equipped 335i is a completely new BEAST...it's so friggin fast!" It's really a night/day difference, and I think its mainly b/c of the huge increase in TQ (HP makes a big difference too, but mostly for the upper end, I believe).

I can't believe 180+ is leading this. Ridiculous.

170ish would be where my money is.

A little background on my previous car, a boosted S2000. It was lighter, and granted it had less displacement, but it figured to produce right about 400bhp at redline. I couldn't touch 180+ with a ten foot pole. After 165 you really hit a brick wall with the amount of wind resistance and it takes alot of ponies to push through.

I may very well be wrong, but I don't see a proceded 335i hitting 180+.

What's the max speed it 5th gear? It's the 1:1 gear, anything in 6th gear is going to be decreased.

I seriously doubt there is anyway you'll hit 180 in 6th gear without at least 400hp. In fact I would bet money on it. The car will be too drag limited and the gearing won't really suport a 330-350 hp car to make that speed.
Hmm, I could be wrong, but I thought it was the opposite. Torque is twisting force while HP is rate of change of twisting speed.

My thinking was that a diesel truck with a relatively large amount of torque can maintain speed up a steep incline better than the high revving HP-heavy, torque-deficient rice rocket.

But the rice rocket, with it's HP advantage can get up to speed faster. Is this not correct?

The way you said this kind of makes sense... I think. But I agree with the other guy. I was always one to believe HP ultimately gives you your top speed.

Case in point, the EVO.

Well, there's still not too much lag (maybe just a bit more pronounced than stock), but when the turbos kick in, you better hold on!!! :rocks: If you step on it 1/2-full throttle (w/o hitting the Step kickdown), the power -- HP and TQ really comes on strong; much stronger than when in stock form!!! From what I hear (from Shiv and others who now have the PROcede), the power is much smoother and even a bit stronger than with the XEDE.

cool....harder hit....

i love the stock powerband as it's silky but it would be nice to have a harder "hit"

my twin 66mm on my c5 hit like a rhino on a big azz cycle of D-bol! :rocks:

Thank you my friend... I wish someone in the midwest had an Xede or PROcede equiped car... I don't even know if shiv ever did the Chicago Dyno day.....

I figured it would be like that....

Any standing start vids or rolling? Yes I have seen all of Shiv's videos and the other ones.. I want more!
