FS: Alcon Advantage Extreme Front BBK for E90/E92

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
***SOLD!***

Alcon Front BBK for E90/E92. Fits an "i" for sure, and probably an "xi" too. I've taken the car back to stock in anticipation of selling/trading it in for an X5....

1 full track day (4x 20 minute sessions, beginner run group)
1 BMW Car Control Clinic
Under 9,000 total miles on the kit. Tons of rotor and pad life left.

ALCON 4 Piston Monobloc Calipers (2x)
ALCON 365mm(14.4") x 32mm Rotors (2x)
STaSIS Caliper Mounting Bracket & Hardware (2x)
Goodridge Stainless Steel Braided Lines (2x)
SBS Hi Performance Brake Pads (4x)
Installation instructions (somewhat generic.)

Note: You will need to cut/trim the stock dust shield to fit this kit. I had to trim out space for the calipers, as well as one other spot to prevent rubbing on the rotor. A self-install takes 2 to 3 hours from start to finish.

Normally retails north of $3,200.
Asking $1,400 plus shipping (USA only, maybe Canada...)
Cash (local), USPS Money Order or Paypal (+3%).

To estimate shipping: 2 boxes, each weighing 36 lbs from 98059.

Alcon does offer a rear kit now too.

More info at Alcon's website about their brake kits:

Hello, I am interested in the kit.
I would ask you please if you could consult Stasis or Alcon if the kit fits on my car, a Volkswagen Golf GTI MkVI 2009 with wheels 18 "model Detroit.
On the official website of AlconUSA recommend kit with 365x32 mm 4 piston caliper for my model, but not if your kit hats do vary and can not ride it.
I would like to stay in touch via PM or e-mail, I promise you that are going to have no problems, Iīm serious buyer, shipping to Spain and would like to know if the price is negotiable.
Sorry for my english.
Wait for your answer, greetings.

Your VW has a different bolt pattern (5x112) versus the BMW's utilizes (5x120), so you will need to purchase new hats. Is there a reason why don't call Statis yourself?

BTW, I love my Alcon's.

Hi thumperx, ok I supose that it will be any problem.
The reason to call stasis is easy, my english is very bad and I hope that an American could have a more fast response than me. By the way if he couldnīt thereīs no problem.
Thanks for the explication about hats, if it is impossible to buy an Alcon kit in Spain imagine only the hats.... if you can take me a hand I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance, greetings

No problem Takakai, I understand. You may be able purchase the VW hats separately and a set of mounting bolts which are about $75 per axle. The hats are not too expensive. You just need to make sure the number brake to hat holes alignment up, it might.

Good luck and cheers

Just back from a 4 day camping trip.....

As Thumperx has explained, the hats would have to be changed due to the bolt pattern being different. Also, you would probably need new mounting brackets to attach the calipers to your VW upright. Finding those parts, even here in the US is going to be way too much work and probably way too much cost.

Besides, shipping would be BRUTAL for this kit. UPS is quoting $550 for shipping, and you'd probably have to pay the import duties on it as well. Alcon is a UK company, I don't see why it should be too hard to get their stuff in Spain? You'd be better off driving from Spain to the UK and finding a VW shop there to buy a kit from. From Alcon's website, they list a distributor in Portugal and several in France. Maybe try one of those?
http://www.alcon.co.uk/distributors_europe.html

Sorry.

Given that, I need to amend my initial post to indicate US shipping only (maybe Canada.....)
