That's not bad, I'm sure an M2 will be $60K nicely/realistically equipped. The RS is the car the STI should have been for the last 7 years or so.

Does anyone have the link to Ford's configuration page for the RS? I can't find it but heard that it was up.

TIA.

Go to the ford website. Build a Focus hatch and the RS trim is one of the options.

Come to Canada. They START at 48k. Unreal. With a couple options will be near the same price as the M2.

Can get an M235 X-Drive for the same money.

I inquired about the RS and the dealer told me there is a market adjustment price of $10k. That means this will cost between $60-65k. That is too much money. They also said 1st year they will only get 1500 in Canada. Not quite sure about that last statement.

LoL. Auto loans now are like housing loans in the early 2000s, easy money to anybody with a pulse so that's why we're seeing these insane car prices now. Can't wait for the *POP*.

I know you're in Canada, but $45k+ here in America for a Focus, hahahaha.

It's the Ford dealerships and their bullshit markups...10k for the RS, 30k for the 350, 70k for the 350R. Do they think they're selling hyper exclusive models like the Zonda R or Ferarri fxx k? These guys have some balls, I'll give them that.

Ugly but looks like fun. Price gouging from dealerships will deter many potential buyers. I'm sure some sucker will pay the mark up. For a $50k focus. haha

Tried ordering one in Vancouver, no luck. Dude said every dealer only gets 1 for the first year. They'll free up allocation for 2017. Still choked that I can't even get a focus at msrp.

I wonder if the added cost is due to it being assembled in Germany (instead of Michigan, USA). The shipping cost from Germany must've been factored in....

The RS is more desirable than the M2? Debatable, I guess. But then again, it's yet to be seen if dealers ADM the M2.

A bit harsh I think. Granted BMW has diluted their lineup a lot in the past 10+ years, there are still lots of desirable cars in the lineup.

That said, pushing 50K (or more in Canada it seems) as good as RS might be, is quite expensive.

Oh, and this is just my personal opinion, impressive performance numbers aside, I really don't like the looks of it - at all. If you're over 35, BMW/Audi or Benz just make the cars that look better, that you don't mind picking your date or your boss in. They still are fun to drive and offer great performance, but just aren't screaming "boy racer". Argument I lose with my 20+ year old relatives every time, but then again, I didn't grow up with "Fast and Furious".

Not harsh, they aren't in the same category and the M2 is kind of in no-mands-land IMO. RS has the HP, has a PERFORMANCE AWD setup, is lighter, etc. Due to the M2s weight, it's a smaller de-tuned M4, could be something real good, but IMO BMW has not chosen to go that route. A decently equipped M2 is 60K, still well north of an RS. With all this talk about dealer markups, I have to wonder if people are pursuing credit-union pricing and all the other options that exist today. Going to the dealer is pretty much the last thing you want to do.

This thing has got to be a total riot. I've driven the regular ST, and it's a blast itself.

As for the pricing, I think it's fair, but I wouldn't be paying markup for one. I'd wait out the initial hype. Ditto on the Shelbys. Awesome cars, but the novelty will wear off, and they'll be discounted. Last month you could buy left-over new Z/28's for low 50's. That's with a 75K+ sticker.

A fully equipped M2 is roughly 53k.
