Any Zaino experts?
What would be the "complete" treatment of zaino for a new car.
I got Clay, Z2, ZFX, Z7, Z6 (I've always used, Clay+ Z2/ZFX 2 or 3 coats) Anything else? I see people, dead people... joke, seen a few person doing, polish + Wax + Sealant, what would be the equivalent for Zaino? Also looking to purchase a complete set PC 7424xp + pads + Meg 105 and 205 for my mother's car which currently looks like crap paint wise... |

Only thing I see you might want to add is some Z-PC. It is a very mild abrasive paint cleaner/swirl remover. You would use it after clay and before Z2. |

If you are going to pick up M105 and M205 there is no need for ZPC.
ZPC is not that great.

I also love the Z16 tire dressing!

this is what I do...I purchased my E60 M5 new (sapphire black) and it IS winter driven...the paint is 99% and has 20K... I just used CG citrus (thanks DI) over the weekend and clayed my car...I am very, very pleased with the way that things are going...one coat of Z-AIO and Z-5 followed...car looked perfect

Point taken. I was just suggesting ZPC if he wanted to stick with Zaino products. I have not used the Megs products mentioned, so cannot compare to ZPC, but ZPC has worked well for me.

I guess one optional step is Z5. Many people use Z5 (with ZFX) as the "base" coat, and put Z2 on top of it, under the theory that Z5 may fill minor swirls. IMX, it looks the same when I use Z5 topped with Z2, or just Z2 topped with more Z2. But since I have both, I generally make Z5 the first coat, Z2 the second, and rarely do I bother with a third coat because it doesn't add any shine or protection that you don't get with the first two coats -- again, IMX. 2 coats is important, but 3 is unnecessary.

I often do 3 coats because it's just easier to fill the little bottle and do three instead of shooting for two coats and sometimes being over, sometimes being under.

Since I have no swirls, i'll go with the 2 coats of Z2. What would seal that? Z6 or the Z-CS (which I'll have to order)?
I usually do manual with the Zaino, The PC7424 will be for a very badly treated Civic... Damm winter... go away.... P.S. I would try other stuff like Menzerna... but I'm Canada and all the detailers from the US ship FEDEX and UPS, these charges over 40$brokerage + taxes. I just received a package from FL sent with USPS and the dealer indicated it as GIFT!! wow so nice, no tax, no duty.... So if anyone willing to do so, I'm in for PC7424xp, Pads, Meg 105 and 205 + a bunch of polishes and wax... yes... I am crazy.... Last edited by FUTBiM; 02-24-2010 at 06:27 PM.. |

If I just order z18, zfx, z2, z6, z7...do I need to get zaio as a foundation if this is the first time I'll be doing zaino on the car? I'm not sure if I need zaio and zcs if I go with the z2, z6. Thanks

you do not NEED Z-AIO as a foundation...but I have found it a very usefull and simple product to use either alone or before using Z-2
