Doing Down Pipes this weekend!

I'm doing my DPs at my place of work on a lift with one of my mechanic buddies. I've watched the DIY video a cpl times and on a lift it doesn't seem like it will be too bad. Anything I should make sure to do other than blasting the exhaust bolts with pb blaster lol

Don't mix up o2 sensors, put v clamps back in the same spot and follow DIY. You Should be good

+1, having the proper o2 sensor tool would be helpful too for removing the stock dps. Possible to do it without it, but still no fun.

I did mine a couple months back. Took 12 hours. 3 hours of labor, 6 hours of finding tools, 3 hours of shit shooting/eating lol

Get some pb-blaster, get some adjustable wrenches ready to get those back 02 sensors out (those took the longest), keep your bolts organized, check which 02 sensors go where 10 times at the least.

To remove the o2 easier with the tight space, use a 7/8 stubby wrench. It is a lot easier and better than the crows feet for o2 sensors.

Have fun - front band clamp was the hardest part on mine - that took 30 minutes of dicking around to get it to go on right, everything is tight and just a general pain in the ass, but 3 hours was about what it took me also just on jack stands!

Should I blast the V Band bolts along with the exhaust bolts?

You non Xi guys have no idea.

OP make sure to mark or tag the O2 sensor wires as to which is front and which is back BEFORE you remove/unplug.

bring with you some patients, and just as a reminder.. downpipes dont bend or give any play... so dont try to force them anywhere THEY WILL FIT lol (well depends on who's you got)

You should make sure that the dp's have enough space between them so they dont rattle. I also cut down a 22mm wrench like they did in the AR video which worked out well.

Well they are on! It took about 2hrs bc we got stuck on the front pipes V Band. What a pain in tye ass that was. Lastly, Dumbass me put the god damn 02s on backwards lol but once switched its all good. Now I just have to let Map 5 learn when I get a chance to get on the highway. The turbo sounds and spool up is awesome and the cars exhaust doesn't seem much louder really.

Also, dropping the steering rack made the Biggest hole ever!! I wouldn't dream of attempting it w/o doing that first.

Last note; the Riss Racing long pipe hangs down farther than stock and bc of this I couldn't put my belly pan back on. Has anyone ran into this? I'm thinking of cutting it around the pipe so I can put it back on. Ill post pics in a sec, once they are loaded to PB..

some pics of the pipe bend. This was how it fit with the exhaust flange and there was no interference between the other pipe either. maybe it's normal for these but it kinda sucks I have to modify my belly pan in order to reinstall it.
