Dension gateway 500 s BT or mobridge
Dension gateway 500 s BT or mobridge
that will also get you USB , ipod and BT telephone/A2dp if you don't have it and its fully digital an doesn't go through the aux. Last edited by ctuna; 03-26-2013 at 10:32 AM.. |

If you have an ipod connection not aux
If you have an ipod connection not aux I don't see why it doesn't
work now . Whats in your option's list . You can get it BMW retrofit but it will cost you as much only give you the controls you want I believe. If you have usb I don't see why you don't just use that. |

This is your answer. You need a media gateway. You have 2 options: The Dension 500 or the Mobridge A2010 HTH |

Aux iPod connection. Would mean your car cane with 6fl option. For OEM option if what I think it in that link you posted should be all.. But the issue is with your cars MY as 6fl was introduced late 08 I believe.most importantly you would need to find out if your car is pre-wired. Lift your trunk flooring up to see some wires wrapped away.

thats why its just not worth. there are several option where companies like belkin have bluetooth products that you stream your music wirelessly for like 40-50 bucks at most i believe. Now I'm sure that there are going to THOSE guys that will complain about the quality but honestly ive heard other bluetooth music and it sounds exactly like it does playing through aux, which is plenty fine for me--my biggest annoyance is the cord, which always gets pinched by the center console. ultimately its just not worth whatever bmw or some other company wants to charge you for usb. But thats just my 2 cents.

you control it right on your phone. the device pairs with your phone, you open your music app and hit play. its basically an aux cord but you dont have to deal with a wire or worry about the wire getting pinched and have it stop working

Yeah I'm not too concerned with the ergonomics of the cable, just want to control the damn thing through my iDrive.

Outside of the non-OEM solutions like the m0bridge and such, the only other way is to retrofit full 6FL. It's a little more expensive to retrofit (you need to buy a MULF if you already don't have one and buy the retrofit kit which is only available in Europe). There's multiple threads on retrofitting 6FL for your time consuming, reading pleasure. |
