Question What & Where to Buy?

Yo! Yo! Yo!
I need some help fellas!

So I made a mistake a few months back by selling my PC 7424XP
Never got to use it either due to bad timing
I'm looking to buy another one, but had some questions on what to get?

I purchased my last kit from Chemical Guys for about $200 and it included..

-Porter Cable 7424XP
-5 inch Backing Plate
-Orange, White, Blue, Black and Red HexLogic Pads
-16 oz Pad Cleaner
-16 oz Buffing Pad Conditioning Primer
-(2) 16x16 Microfiber Towels

I have noticed that the most commonly used pads are Lake Country.
I am making the assumption that they are higher quality than HexLogic?
I also purchased Chemical Guys P40 Polish, EZ Creme Glaze, JetSeal 109 and Petes 53 Wax.

I sold the P40 Polish and kept the rest of the products I purchased.
Got a good deal on the EZ Creme Glaze, JetSeal 109 and Petes 53 Wax.

Now, I know my car isn't it too good of shape
By seeing on what you pro's show what bad looks like, well thats me!!

Can some of you chime in a bit on what I should get?
Don't want to go past the $200-$250 range if not necessary.
I've seen lots of good results with Mezerna line of polishes

Ultimately I'd like to pick up something that can work with what I have.

I have a medium duty clay bar ready to go
Also want to buy a Iron Remover... Iron X or Iron Cut?

Owned the car for almost three years..

I've done everything but a paint correction!

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys!

DetailedImage is definitely a front runner in detailing supplies and information on this forum, if you haven't noticed. They usually package stuff well together I haven't look at pricing yet but I'm sure you can find something.

For the LC pads, from my understanding I believe MOST pads are LC manufactured with just a change in retailer name. I believe the same goes for clay as well. Most clay bars are made by ClayMagic I think.

As for the other info, I'm sure someone else can help as I'm not too knowledgeable in polishes quite yet. I do hear great things from Menzerna though.

Cheers to '07 Monaco Blue! e90 here.

335xi_zer0 - thanks for the recommendation, we would be happy to help out.

At www.DetailedImage.com we are currently running a sale for 25% (code Spring12) but it expires tonight (3/22) at midnight EST and it does not apply to DI Packages, tools (i.e. buffers) and sale items. So in short it's a great time to stock up and get many of those items you mentioned.

During the cleaning process I do recommend the CarPro Iron X Iron Remover that you mentioned. It's a great way to really deep clean the surface combined with a clay bar.

A PC and the right polishes will help you get outstanding results. I love the Menzerna polishes you mentioned and I do recommend them frequently however given the budget you mentioned it will be harder to incorporate them. Instead I would suggest the Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish M205 and Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound M105 combo which is my other favorite choice for polishing. This combo is far more affordable and they even offer the 8oz size bottles which can help you complete 2 - 4 details.

If you want a PC, pads and the Megs polishes here are some good package deals but please remember you can not take 25% off of them because they are already discounted.
DI Packages PC 7424XP with M105, M205 and 5.5" pads
DI Packages Porter Cable 7424XP, Meguiar's Polishes and Hydro Pads Basic Kit

After polishing use the E-Z Creme Glaze (black pad), Jetseal 109 (blue pad) and Pete's 53 (hand applied). If you have any questions about these products please let me know!
