Search for a local indy shop, most can do them for around $1k locally or try and use a buddies garage/tools if you don't have one

waterpump

Exactly DIY and save its not hard a little time consuming. It is a tight area but it's worth doing it yourself and save that other 600 u can apply it toward something else.

+1

But mine did go out at 36k so its kinda hit or miss. I think there is a poll where alot folks have put at what mileage the waterpump has gone out. Search it if yoy want to know

hmmmm...kind of interesting statement as this is the only car that i had to replace a waterpump under 100k miles.

family cars / miles / water pump replaced

2006 toyota 4runner / 220k miles / no
2004 lexus ls430 / 160k miles / no
2007 vw jetta / 70k miles / no
2008 acura tl / 60k miles / no
2002 cadillac escalade / 200k miles / no
2000 honda accord / 200k miles / no
2008 kia sedona / 140k miles / no

a bunch of other older cars all well over 100k miles and we have never had to change a water pump...this is the only car i have actually had to take it in.

guess its my luck i suppose but im pretty sure this is the only car with this kind of issue and probably due to the high temps.
