Post HELP Want to put 275/40/17 in rear e90 335i

I been looking around but no answers so if anyone can direct me
or help out a fellow a bmw member sweet! and if you are only going to bash
just keep youre comments to yourself


well im currently running 17x9.5 30offset arc-8 all around with 255/40/17
5mm spacers all around i want a beefier look i plan on keeping my current size
for the front (yes there is no rub) but i want something more aggressive

has anyone ever installed 275/40/17 in the rear or a e90 335?
please help pics?links?

Don't you mean 275/35?
If you go 40 then it's going to be taller than your current tire.

Im currently on 255 40
So 275 would be wider and same height 40?
Will that work?

Anytime you increase tire width but keep the same profile, the tire gets taller. 275/40 will give you 8mm more rubber above the rim. So it affects your acceleration and your speedo.

I see old post ….It’s possible but may require problem solving such as a little more negative camber and or fender rolling . Speedos on bmw are little generous so extra diameter can fix that and then you have weight and gear ratios to consider if you are picky .
Most importantly different brands may vary significantly not only in actual dimensions but also in sidewall shape so one 275 may fit w out mods at 35-40 ish offset and the really aggressive 200 treadwear tire may rub and require deeper fender rolling . Who’s got picks of e90 sedan w 275/40r17
