BTW, I am still trying to figure out if I want to go back to 3.64 or 3.38- with the 3.38s do you hit 5th gear at the Glen at all or are you able to keep it in 4th on straits? I have been playing around with a gear ratio calculator and am trying to figure out what will be the best compromise for a car that sees 20,000 miles a year and a hald dozen auto crosses and hopefully 4 track weekends.
We're gonna stick with the N52 for now. Later on, possibly an S65.
3.38 were perfect for Watkins Glen. 3rd & 4th gear only. I ended up running a 2:24 in the dry on R-comps.

Not really. I'd need a different CAI, different tune and different exhaust (most probably full-race header)

I am so jealous you have a legitimate "because race car" excuse.

Last time I was on Thunderbolt with PCA in June I ran a 1:38 without the T2 chicane. I think with more time on Thunderbolt, you'll be around 1:37 - 1:36 based on your Lightning time.
I have 6 days total on Thunderbolt and wasn't there for 3 years, but it came back quickly.

Yeah, kind of cool! I'm really looking forward to it. Now time to do all my research on the Z4!

Sorry all, my mistake, this car is coming from Texas, not Cali. Steve was looking at two coupes this week and the second one was in Cali. We got the first one. Should have it in the next couple weeks. Not in a huge rush, so we're trying to get the best deal we can on transportation to PA from TX.

I saw pics of it. It's black (for now) and essentially needs the entire front clip. So it looks bad, but both doors open and close no problem so hopefully it won't be anything more than bolting on new parts.

Done. I signed up for the 10/27-28 TBolt event with NASA, anyone else planning to attend?

Most likely my last track event with the 335i, all the mods are coming off starting next month.

Man unless you're instructing don't see how your budget allows NASA. Don't get me wrong, they run awesome events and most of my events last year were with them but I've been able to squeeze in more days by running soley with TD, CCA and PCA.

Same with me, after the 19th the street pads and Volks go back on.

purely a timing issue, for some odd reason all the NASA events line up with my free time this year. I frankly prefer PCA and TD, lots of track time for a good price!

Because you are a Californian, your vote does not count. Can't you read the thread title, noob? This is for the NORTHEAST track crowd.

Z4M, e46 M3 or '09-'10 e92 M3.

Still trying to decide. Lots of pros and cons with each one. Wish I could fit a trailer and dedicated track car in the plans but it's not in the cards at the moment.

As much as I love the Z4, it's not a great track car in the sense that you can't haul any tires with you. So unless you're willing to buy a trailer for the car, or small one for tires and ruin your bumper, it's going to be tough. You run what you brung, lol.

My vote is e46 m3, just so many parts out there for cheap. My neighbor is / was selling his race prepped m3 for relatively cheap, considering the quality parts in it.
