DMS remap

I was going to call DMS tomorrow re-having my car remapped.

I know some members on here have spoken to Mike before and I was wondering, do e90post members get a discount from DMS?

I know E60 members do, 25% I think?

I spoke to Mike Cooper today and confirmed E90post members will get a 25% discount if they take there car to them.

You will get a 10% discount if they come to you.

I am calling Mike tomorrow to book my car in for the Monday the 9th October.

If anyone else fancies a "remap" and a trip to Oxford for the morning /afternoon Mike would come to my home to do the remaps, subject to numbers, and we would still get the 25% discount.

Theres a lovely pub in my village so we could have a spot of lunch.

Mike also told me that they have just completed a remap on the 335d! I sure he said they got 330bhp out of it!

He said as it went up the road it left two massive black tyre marks behind!!

Hi,
Good info - thanks. Based on what I have hears so far I think the 335d would leave those black marks without the DMS remap!
I am interested to know the cost for the remap with the 25% discount?
Did you discuss their warranty?
What are the outputs for the 320d following the DMS makeover?...Do I need to be worried?! (330d)

Any feedback appreciated.

The cost without the discount for the 320d is £699.13p inc vat, I'm sure it's the same price for the 330d.

Mike quoted me £520.00 inc vat yesterday, so quite a saving with the discount!

Power on the 320d is increased from 163 bhp to 208bhp. Nm increased from 340 to approx 400.

I have really looked in to this and the dangers / risks. My car is only 3 months old and there is no way I was going to damage it.

DMS offer free remaps should your dealer "wipe it" during servicing and a 3 year warranty.

No one has yet made a warranty claim on a DMS remap.

Did your car get "a seeing to" from DMS?
If so what is the before and after comparison?

I'm hoping to take it down this Monday if Mike from DMS can fit it in.

Hi everyone, I was looking into getting a superchips remap done. But from the info above it looks like DMS is the way to go. Does anyone know if they are much better than superchips??

thanks a lot

I am considering the DMS remap. In exploring other options found this article on the Hartge conversion.
http://www.europeancarweb.com/tuned/...w_hartge_330d/

The approved UK Hartge dealer is:www.birds.uk.com I spoke with them yesterday and the cost is twice that of the DMS conversion - but with it there seems to be no BMW warranty issue.
Just another option.

Hey Guys, I've been watching the posts on this topic with interest, so I decided I had better become a member.

So has anyone one on here got the DMS Remap for the 330d and what is it like?

Maybe someone could throw some light on the following questions:

-Are the performance gains very noticable?
-How does it effect your mpg?
-How does it effect your warranty?
-Has anyone had their car serviced since getting the work done and did the dealer pick up on it? (Primarliy concerned with how it might effect the 5 year inclusive servicing agreement)

Interested to get your feedback.

ird hi m8 first of all the pulling power has changed a lot, my dad has just had his x5 3.0 sport done last week and had it serviced a few days ago bmw didnt pick up and it still pulls hard, i think dms gets the best bhp but to many bhp is a lot of strain on the turbo and engine so i went with superchips which give a 5 year warrenty with it to

Mmmmm tempting but not sure how it would leave 2 black marks as there is no LSD to lock up the back axle?

Unlike my old E30 325 sport sold around 1994 which would perform that trick on request. Now I have a diesel with another 109 BHP that returns 10 MPG more. Times have changed.

Seriously; I will look at a DMS remap in the spring. 428LB Ft is probably enough for the winter !

Mikes words not mine I'm not to hot on "LSD's" etc so wouldn't have a clue.

With a 335d I'm sure you have your hands more than full!

It can leave 2 black lines without LSD - but they won't be exactly the same length. To do that you'd need a locking diff - not an LSD

Had mine done before xmas (325d) by DMS. Very impressed car now pulls hard to the red line in every gear and according to my G tech the car now does 0-60 in 6.6 secs which is nearly a sec faster than stock.

I have had mine done (DMS'd) 320d and it pulls really well especially in third and fourth. I have had 2 services since and bmw haven't mentioned it.

I have seen off most hot hatches with a rolling start not so quick off the lights approx 7.4 secs, my mpg has improved but have eaten my rear tyres once again, I am on my third set at 43k miles.

In my opinion the DMS re-map is great.

There was an article in BMW Car magazine a while back about DMS and chip upgrades. 'parently the dealer diagnostics in servicing should not even notice the remap.

Paddy, I think you get first prize for having got through the most brakes and tyres than any other E90 in the UK!!
